Aarthi

Born in India, and now based in LA., Aarthi is  an Education Policy graduate with a deep-rooted passion for numbers and data. Her love for math began in high school and has since shaped her approach to everything she does—she’s always ready to apply both analytical skills and creativity to a challenge. She’s also an avid food enthusiast who loves to experiment with new dishes. She holds a Master Chef Culinary Certificate from Chef Eric Crowley.  Whether it's numbers or flavors, she is always ready to spark conversations about her two favorite passions - math and food!

Kayla

Kayla was born and raised in Los Angeles. She graduated from Archer School for Girls in 2021, where she worked as a peer tutor. She currently attends Santa Monica College, pursuing an education and career in film production. She is passionate about movies, music, and learning.

Leif

Leif was born in the Philippines and raised in Southern California. Following his passion for technology, he recently earned multiple computer technician certifications in various fields. When it comes to math, Leif did not have a natural affinity for it. With repeated practice, he developed a respect for it due to its immense possibilities and real life applications-- even in the most unlikely situations. Having personal experience with struggling in math, he wishes to teach children of all ages to appreciate math and its practicalities in the simplest way possible. When not at Mathnasium, Leif enjoys tinkering with hardware, watching anime, and playing video games.

Michael

Michael has been an instructor at Mathnasium since 2017 and has worked at various locations around the South Bay. He thoroughly enjoys working with students and imparting his decades of math wisdom so that they can see math in different ways. When he is not teaching, he can be found participating in trivia nights, acting in multiple community theater groups, and enjoying the company of his friends and family.

Toby

Toby is from Manhattan Beach and is currently a student at Mira Costa High School. He enjoys learning new math concepts, problem solving, and working with kids. In his free time, Toby likes playing soccer and watching sports.

Jacob

Jacob lives in Manhattan Beach and attends Mira Costa High School. He enjoys understanding math and science concepts at a deep level and wants to help other students do the same. Outside of Mathnasium, he likes to play & teach the violin, read educational science content, and journal for self-improvement.

Dylan

Dylan is from Manhattan beach and is currently a student at Mira Costa High School. He has a passion for math, helping others, and learning. In his free time, Dylan likes playing volleyball and watching movies.

Zidane

Zidane was born and raised in Fountain Valley and now lives in Redondo Beach. He graduated from Fountain Valley High School, and is now a current college student at California State University, Long Beach. He’s always had a passion for mathematics, looking to apply it to all facets of his life. Outside of the classroom, Zidane likes to play guitar, watch movies, taste test coffee/boba shops, and play video games.

Kimaya

Kimaya is currently a senior at Mira Costa High School and has a passion for tutoring. Outside of Mathnasium, she also plays in an orchestra, enjoys going to the gym, listens to a lot of music, and loves trying out new restaurants in the community.

Ishaan

Ishaan is from Manhattan Beach and is currently a student at Mira Costa High School. He has had a passion for math since a young age and enjoys watching students succeed. Ishaan, in his free time, enjoys running and watching TV.

Lily

Lily is from Kuwait and is currently a student at Mira Costa High School. She enjoys trying new things, problem solving, and working with kids. In her free time, Lily likes going to the beach, playing basketball, and spending time with her family and friends.

Ethan

Ethan Stearns lives in Manhattan Beach and attends Mira Costa High School. He enjoys math because of the satisfaction of finally understanding a difficult concept. Outside of Mathnasium, he enjoys playing the piano, reading new books, volunteering, and participating in science competitions.

Andrew

Andrew loves math, especially upper level math & statistics. He is studying Math & Computer Science at Moorpark College. In his free time, he enjoys hikes & walks.

Mars

Mars is from Los Angeles and is currently a college student studying biology. She believes that persevering to learn a skill like math is an admirable commitment. In her free time, Mars enjoys reading and catching up with her friends.

Nicherie

Nicherie is from Torrance and just recently graduated from South High School. She currently attends Cal State LA, pursuing a nursing degree. She loves working with kids and enjoys helping students feel more confident in their math skills. In her free time, she enjoys playing volleyball, snowboarding, and watching true crime documentaries.

Emi

Emi lives in Manhattan Beach and is a student at Mira Costa High School. She loves learning about math, thinking through puzzles, and helping others understand new concepts. In her free time, she enjoys listening to music and hanging out with friends.

Micah

Micah lives in Manhattan Beach and is currently a junior at Mira Costa High School. He enjoys understanding math and science in depth and likes helping others build their own understandings of these subjects. In his free time, he enjoys cooking, playing badminton, working out, and playing music.

Bella

Bella lives in Manhattan Beach and attends Mira Costa High School. She has a passion for math and science and enjoys helping other students understand and learn how to solve difficult problems and concepts. Outside of Mathnasium, Bella plays violin in the Mira Costa Orchestra and volunteers with several local philanthropies. She also enjoys reading, dance, baking, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Eddie

Eddie is from Torrance and is currently a senior at CAMS High School.  He is passionate about computer science and combines it with business through different projects. In his free time, Eddie likes to work on coding projects such as games or simulations.  Eddie also enjoys playing the piano, talking with friends, and playing tennis.
