Steve Paul
Owner / Center Director
NJ Certified Teacher of Mathematics
After graduating from Millersville University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and attending the U.S. Army Engineering Officer School at Ft. Belvoir, Virginia, Steve enjoyed a successful 20-year career in the employee benefits field.
Throughout his career, Steve devoted a great deal of his time to coaching baseball, soccer, and wrestling and served his community in an executive capacity on his local Little League board of directors. "Being able to help children learn how to play and enjoy a sport and seeing the smiles on their faces as their skills and self-confidence grew was a very rewarding experience for me. I truly think that I benefitted as much as our athletes did because it helped me discover that my passion lies in educating young minds."
"A part of me always thought that I should be teaching math in a local middle school or high school, so while I was acquiring insurance and securities industry licenses and my CLU designation, I also obtained my NJ math teaching credentials."
In an effort to jumpstart his second career, Steve completed the training phase of Montclair State University's Traders to Teachers program and student taught at his alma mater, Sayreville War Memorial High School. Steve is considered Highly Qualified to teach mathematics from Pre-K through 12th grade. While he was looking for a full-time math teaching position, Steve learned about Mathnasium and quickly realized that he could have a positive impact on far more children by introducing them to the Mathnasium Method.
Steve is excited about opening a Mathnasium learning center in Marlboro. He looks forward to teaching math to children in a way that makes sense to them, encouraging them to build Number Sense, and helping them develop the skills and confidence they'll need to succeed in the future in a fun, wholesome and nurturing environment.
