Although she always enjoyed the subject, Meadow never took a math class after high school. Instead, in order to have something to talk about with her math-nerd brother, Meadow started to watch linear algebra lectures and read textbooks, and discovered that mathematics was one of her favorite things in the world. She considers herself a mathematics hobbyist, and her personal mission is to teach students that math is not only important, but also beautiful. With a background in tech startups, Meadow has seen firsthand how a deep understanding of math can lead to rewarding careers, motivating her to pivot into teaching math to inspire future engineers, physicists, and rocket scientists. Mathnasium is a perfect fit for her because it aligns with her mission to teach math in a way that fosters understanding and appreciation rather than rote memorization. Some fun facts about Meadow: she can identify every country on the world map, and she’s driven across the entire country 4 times! In addition to Mathematics, she’s obsessed with history, philosophy, horror movies, and heavy metal music.

Ben got his start in education while volunteering at the Indianapolis Zoo with marine animals such as walruses -- which he regards as the best animals in the animal kingdom! Answering questions posed about the animals and what could be done to help the environment piqued his interest in other forms of education. He appreciates that at Mathnasium you can see the progression and positive impact on students’ lives each day. In his free time, Ben can be found playing guitar (although rather poorly he admits readily), spending time in nature, and exploring new places!
Jeff decided a few years after graduating with a Economics degree from James Madison University that he wanted to become a High School Math teacher. This led him to earning a Masters in Education from George Mason University and a ten year career as a math instructor at both the high school and college level. He then spent several years in various operations and training leadership roles with two national restaurant brands before coming back to his “roots” and passion for math education by joining Mathnasium. When not working to Change Lives Through Math, Jeff enjoys spending time with his wife of 28 years and two dogs or visiting his three adult children.
James developed a passion for and proficiency with Mathematics during his middle and high school years. In 2000, James graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mathematics and a love for solving all types of problems. He took those skills into the United States Air Force where he served for 7 years as an aircraft maintenance officer. It was during these years that James had the opportunity to tutor home schooled children and really started to appreciate the frustration that many kids feel towards Mathematics. James left the Air Force in 2007 to go back to the University of Virginia where he received his Master's of Business Administration degree from the Darden School of Business.
