Center Director
Jessica graduated from UC Merced with a Bachelor's in Applied Mathematics with honors. Her plan was to go into teaching, but she knew that students needed more when it comes to mathematics education. She found Mathnasium and fell in love with the commitment to student excellence and the personalized learning plans to make sure no student is left behind. Jessica's passion has always been in mathematics education and helping students not only learn, but to have fun with math. When not dedicating her time to Mathnasium, Jessica likes to hike, spend time with her family and friends, and read.

Vu Nguyen

Hello, I am Vu Nguyen and I am a 3rd year economics student at UC Merced. I love being able to teach kids because when I was a kid, I always had great trouble learning math at all levels. Due to my struggle with education, I want to use that experience to provide a different path for the students to learn how to do math as opposed to the traditional ways that is taught in school. Being a former student at Mathnasium has provided me with many different techniques on what to do when doing math, so having the opportunity to pass this knowledge on to the students of the center was something that I could never pass up on, which is the primary reason as to why I am currently an instructor here at Mathnasium, Merced.

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
