Alexis

Math Instructor
Alexis is a student at Red Mountain High School. She has taken several AP classes and is part of the STEM institute engineering program. She volunteers at the Arizona Museum of Natural History, along with interning with the Arizona Science Center and Make Games; Save the Planet at ASU. Being an instructor at Mathnasium, means Alexis gets the opportunity to work with kids as they deepen their understanding of math. Math has always been her favorite subject and she loves helping others enjoy it! Fav Math Joke: What’s half of 288? Gross! Fun Facts: She has a dog named Bella, likes to read, and has been learning Spanish since 4th grade!

Ellie

Assistant Center Director
Ellie’s love for math was evident at an early age. She has wanted to be a math teacher since elementary school! In high school, Ellie took advanced math classes through Calculus, and most recently, she completed College Geometry as a student at Southeastern University. After graduation, she is hoping to become a certified secondary education math teacher. She is passionate about her role as an instructor for Mathnasium because she loves working with kids and enjoys getting to see them understand and enjoy math. Favorite Math Joke: You should never start a conversation with Pi. It’ll just go on and on forever... Fun Facts: Ellie lived in Florida for 19 years and recently moved to Arizona with her family. She loves her new state and all it has to offer! Ellie has played piano for over 14 years. She loves to play anything from Disney classics to Broadway hits!

JC

Math Instructor
JC graduated from Desert Ridge High School in May of 2021 and is currently attending Chandler-Gilbert Community College. As a STEM Major, he's looking to transfer to ASU's Polytechnic Campus in search of a Mechanical/Robotics degree. He is passionate about being an instructor at Mathnasium because it has always brought him joy helping people. he would constantly help his friends in classes with their math homework and it got to the point where they would tell him to be a math teacher. He really enjoy working with others, and it's just an even greater benefit if all the work being done involves math. Favorite Math Joke: Why can’t a nose be 12 inches long? Because then it would be a foot. Fun Facts: His favorite color is purple. He loves to dance (most of the kids at Mathnasium even know this!) He is very passionate about everything music related. He collected Rubik's cubes for a long time (He can solve one in under 30 seconds!).

Josh

Math Instructor
Josh has worked with patients as well as staff when he volunteered at Phoenix Children’s Hospital for a year. He is currently a student at Desert Ridge High School. He loves that he gets to work at Mathnasium because he loves helping kids learn and love math. He likes music too and plays alto sax in his school’s jazz black and oboe in wind ensemble. Fun Facts: In his free time he likes to play chess, video games, and compose music. He's also trying to learn to be fluent in French. C'est tout! Bonne journée!

Kahlan

Math Instructor
Kahlan graduated from Red Mountain High School. While in High School she also attended Mesa Community College where she studied for her Associate in Applied Sciences. She is currently studying mechanical engineering at ASU and is set to graduate in May of 2026. She is passionate about being an instructor at Mathnasium because she is passionate about math. She has always loved math, and that is why she's studying to become an engineer. She is also passionate about traveling, hiking, and spending time with her family. She has traveled to 23 different states and has just recently started hiking over the past couple of years. Fav Math Joke: Why was 6 afraid of 7? Cause 7 8 9. Why did 7 eat 9? Cause 7 was trying to eat 3 squared meals a day. 5. Fun fact: She plays golf. After high school, she decided to learn a new sport and has found it quite challenging!

Kyle

Math Instructor
Kyle is currently attending ASU and has been with Mathnasium of Mesa South since over 5 years now! He has always loved Math even though he wasn't best at it in his early years of school. He loves helping other students and continues to help many every year with their math homework. He is excited when he sees students face light up when they get the right answer and understand how they got it. Kyle's family is always asking him to help them with any little Math question and he loves helping them. Favorite Math Joke: √-1 2^3 ∑pi Fun Facts: He is second oldest of his siblings. He was in marching band for 4 years and can solve a Rubik's cube!
