Tara is a senior at the University of Delaware studying cognitive science with a focus on speech-language pathology. She also works with students in the RISE program at Redding Middle School. Tara has been part of Mathnasium for four years and loves the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in students’ lives through math education.
Her favorite math topic is algebra, and she enjoys reading and crafting in her spare time. Tara’s go-to math joke? “I had an argument with a 90-degree right angle. Turns out, it was right!”
Amira is a junior at the University of Delaware studying biology education and forensic science. She brings energy and creativity to her role, sharing her love of space, dinosaurs, and fun facts with students as she helps them strengthen their math skills.
Algebra is her favorite math topic, and she enjoys crafting and playing video games. Her favorite joke? “We all know 7, 8, 9, but why did he do it? He wanted three square meals a day!”
Hayden is a freshman at the University of Delaware, double majoring in math and computer science. He hopes to earn a Ph.D. and one day become a university math professor. Hayden enjoys exploring challenging topics like complex analysis and sharing his enthusiasm with students.
Outside of class, he spends time writing music, learning languages, and watching math videos. His favorite joke? “How does a mathematician pick his nose? He works it out with a pencil.”
Caedyn graduated with a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Western Washington University. Passionate about both teaching and creativity, they love using humor and games to engage students in algebra and other math topics.
When they’re not teaching, Caedyn enjoys playing video games, D&D, and making origami art. A favorite joke? “i and pi got into an argument. ‘Be rational,’ said i to pi. ‘Get real,’ pi replied.”
Jeremy is a senior at Odessa High School in the engineering pathway. He enjoys helping students approach math and science topics with curiosity and confidence. His favorite subject is physics and he’s always looking for ways to connect math to real-world problem solving.
Jeremy spends his free time listening to music, walking, and working with computers. He enjoys math humor too: “I was studying frequency in class today. Now my brain Hertz.”
Brandon is a freshman at the University of Delaware majoring in Actuarial Sciences.
Favorite Math Topic: Statistics
Favorite Math Joke: Parallel lines have too much in common. It’s a shame they’ll never meet.
Hobbies: Tennis, traveling, cello
