📣 CT SAT School Day is coming up in March

Reminder for parents of public high school juniors:

You do not register and you do not pay.

All public high school juniors in Connecticut are automatically tested at school.

Because it’s free and automatic, many families don’t realize how important this test is.

Here’s why it matters ⬇️

Last year, only 31% of public high school junior students statewide met or exceeded math expectations

(Source: EdSight).

Percentage of students who met or exceeded math expectations in local public school districts:

 • Amity: 53% (Woodbridge, Orange, Bethany)

 • North Haven: 42%

 • Milford: 40%

 • Shelton: 39%

 • Seymour: 28%

 • Hamden: 18%

Even in high-achieving communities, these numbers are lower than many families expect.

For several neighboring towns, the results are especially concerning.

CT SAT School Day is a real SAT.

It is used for college readiness and math placement, not just reporting.

SAT success does not happen overnight.

You’re not going from a 400 to a 700 in a few months.

But moving from 500 → 600, or 600 → 700, is very realistic when students have a strong foundation.

That foundation is built years earlier, starting in elementary and middle school.

The SAT is taken in high school, but the skills are learned long before then.

Strong foundations today = fewer obstacles later.
