Alongside my love for intellectual challenges, I am thrilled by climbing in nature and swimming; finding in the sea a presence of tranquility and calmness that restores my balance. Amber H.

Instructor
Growing up with three younger siblings, I’ve always wanted to choose a career related to helping and teaching others. That’s a huge reason as to why I chose to apply to Mathnasium as an instructor, and help students on their math journey. To me, math has always been something straight forward, and that’s a huge reason as to why I like math. It’s always something along the line of using an equation to help with preforming the necessary steps to find the answer to the question.

Ariel L.

Instructor
Hello! My name is Ariel. I have been working at Mathnasium for nearly two years, but I started out as a student in this center four years ago. With the invaluable advice of my mentors and personal experience I gained from accelerating two grade levels in math, I hope to empower students to overcome their academic struggles while sparking a passion for learning. Mathnasium has taught me that math is much more than just a subject: it is an opportunity for students to explore, grow, and reach for the future they envision! In addition to math tutoring, I am in my third year of competing Varsity Swim Team, serve as club President for UN Foundation Girl Up, and spend lots of my free time traveling with my family.

I started working with students when I was still a high school student. After getting more years of experience in college, I graduated with a degree in both Philosophy and Cognitive Science. My goal is to slowly figure out my path in becoming a part of the education system in some way as a career. When I am not calculating or analyzing for fun, I enjoy volunteering at the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank and binge-watching human-interest stories on YouTube.

Kyle Huang

Instructor
Hello! I am Kyle Huang. I am an Electronic Systems Engineering student at Cal Poly Pomona. Some hobbies include video games, anime, pop culture, and various sports such as skateboarding or basketball. I enjoy doing math since it is one of those skills that you use every day as well as at the higher levels it can explain why a lot of things in life work such as machines and whatnot. I never had tutoring growing up so learning math was a struggle at times and I like tutoring since it gives me an opportunity to give kids something I was not able to receive. Math is difficult and if I can help a student learn math than my job is complete.

Magdalena Dewi

Hi! My name is Magdalena. I love working with children because I enjoy getting to know them and connecting with them through teaching. Making them realize that they have potential deep in their minds fulfills my purpose as a teacher. I find it amazing how we can inspire these children to channel their abilities by using math as a tool. My hobbies include listening to music, singing, and watching dramas & kung fu movies. I also love eating cake and drink boba.

Math isn't just a subject to me; it’s a world full of fascinating methods and countless ways to solve equations. My mission is to help students not only understand math but also enjoy it as a fun and engaging experience.
When I’m not immersed in the world of numbers, you might find me speaking Mandarin Chinese, hitting the pool for a game of water polo, or enjoying a swim. I also love acting, playing golf, chess, skateboarding, and traveling through Asia. And let's not forget my passion for cooking and food and trying all new cuisines from around the world!
Join me on this exciting journey of learning and discovering the beauty of math!
