In Mathnasium of Montgomeryville’s middle school program, students master computation and problem solving with rational numbers, i.e., fractions, decimals, and percent, as part of the process to successfully achieve Algebra readiness—preparing for first-year Algebra (Algebra I). This creates a solid mathematical foundation for future subjects, including Geometry, Algebra II, Trigonometry, and Pre-Calculus.

Our Approach
Middle school students receiving tutoring and math instruction at Mathnasium of Montgomeryville engage with our team of instructors in a unique combination of mental, verbal, visual, tactile, and written exercises. These do more than just meet State of Pennsylvania PSSA and Keystone standards, they surpass the recommendations of the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the Common Core standards.
Basic math concepts and skills blend to create our program which is designed to help students build number sense. Mathnasium’s program educates children on both “the how and why” the useful number rules they are learning and how they can be applied to interesting areas such as computer science, biology, and psychology.
Customized Learning Plan
Students are evaluated with a written and verbal assessment unique to Mathnasium. Based on the results, we develop a customized learning plan designed to close educational gaps a student may have and make it easier for student to jump ahead when they are ready for advanced math challenges.
Middle school math builds upon elementary math foundation and focuses on explaining why mathematical rules work in order for children to learn and understand the rules, not just memorize them.
Additionally, we help kids understand their school homework, as well as help them prepare for school quizzes or tests, Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA), and Keystone Exams (End-of-Course).
