Derek Lariviere is the Center Director and Owner of Mathnasium of Moore and Mathnasium of Norman. He is passionate about helping students gain confidence in math by making it understandable and enjoyable. Derek believes every child deserves to learn math in a way that makes sense to them, whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead. He looks forward to meeting families in the community and developing personalized learning plans to support each student's success.
Aydin is an OU student majoring in computer science, and he has been working at Mathnasium since 2025. He loves watching kids imporove their skills over time, and working with them to make that happen. Aydin's favorite math fun fact is that the conversion factor from miles to kilometers is very close to the golden ratio, so, if you know Fibonacci, conversion is easy. His favorite number is 11, becuase it looks good on a football jersey. His hobbies include chess, sports, and rock climbing.
Cooper received his bachelor's degree in astronomy from the University of Colorado. He has been working as a tutor for years, including at tutoring club, CU athletics tutoring, and as a teaching assistant, and he has been at Mathnasium since 2023. What he loves most about tutoring is the moment a student reaches understanding on a tough topic. Cooper's favorite math-related fun fact is that some of the oldest recorded writings are Mesopotamian grain yield spreadsheets! His favorite number is i, becuase imaginary numbers can be as valuable as real ones. His hobbies are film, writing, animation, and video games.
Anu is a student at Westmoore High School. He has been working at Mathnasium since 2025, and what he loves most about the job is getting to teach kids from different backgrounds. Anu's favorite math fun fact is that the square root of negative one is imaginary, but his favorite number is seven becuase it is a holy number. His hobbies are basketball, fishing, and math!
