Although we could not have a large Halloween Spooktacular celebration this year due to COVID precautions, we were excited to host our first-ever Pumpkin Decorating Contest!
We loved seeing the creative ways in which our students integrated a love for math into each submission! For example, Julia's "bunnicula" pumpkin (the center pumpkin on the bottom row in the photo above) is a bunny and a vampire/Dracula, all in one. Displayed on its head are the numbers "3.14" - a tribute to the irrational number Pi! Audrey's superhero pumpkin features a belt displaying the digits of pi, and a pi symbol on its cape! The pumpkin also went trick-or-treating, so it's holding a basket full of goodies!
Our students loved the event so much that we will be making it an annual tradition - so stay tuned for next year! :)
