Mathnasium of Mount Vernon's personalized geometry tutoring programs are designed to support students at every stage of their math journey.
We introduce middle school students to foundational concepts like angles, shapes, congruence, and basic measurement, building the spatial reasoning and logical thinking skills needed for high school geometry.
Our tutors guide students through core topics—triangles, circles, proofs, transformations, and the Pythagorean theorem—using personalized plans that make abstract concepts clear and build problem-solving confidence.
Honors students and competition participants can receive targeted support for challenging topics like advanced proofs, coordinate geometry, and complex problem-solving strategies that prepare them for college-level coursework and math competitions.
At Mathnasium of Mount Vernon, our tutors work with students of all skill levels to help them learn and master any geometry topic, from angles and shapes to coordinate geometry and formal proofs.
Whether your student is in middle school or tackling honors-level high school geometry, we meet them where they are and help them grow.
We teach geometry using the Mathnasium Method™, a proprietary teaching approach designed to promote math mastery, including a deep understanding of geometry.
By combining personalized learning plans with interactive teaching techniques, we help students not only grasp key geometry concepts but also enjoy the learning process.
We start each student’s journey with a diagnostic assessment to evaluate their skills and goals. Using the assessment-based insights, we create a personalized learning plan focused on the topics they need most, such as congruence, transformations, area and volume, or logic and proofs.
Once the learning plan is in place, our tutors provide targeted instruction, adapting to each student’s learning style to close any learning gaps, strengthen their geometry foundation, and build lasting confidence.

Nathaniel McCay
Assistant Center Director
Nathaniel graduated from George Mason University in 2024 with a degree in Computer Science. During his time there, he served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant for several courses, including Calculus II, where he discovered a talent for mentoring and sharing knowledge with others. His love for math began in high school, sparked by the satisfaction of solving puzzles, and he’s eager to help students discover that same excitement at Mathnasium. Outside the center, Nathaniel enjoys playing video games, performing on the double bass, and taking part in community theatre across the DMV.
Ben Bramsen
Senior Regional Director
Ben discovered his passion for education while volunteering at the Indianapolis Zoo, where he worked with marine animals—especially walruses, which he considers the best animals in the kingdom! His experience answering visitor questions sparked his love for teaching and led him to pursue a career in educational leadership.
At Mathnasium, Ben values the ability to see students grow each day. His upbeat personality and deep care for student success make him an inspiring leader. In his free time, Ben enjoys playing guitar (even if a little off-key), spending time in nature, and exploring new places.
Jeff McCabe
President
Jeff earned his degree in Economics from James Madison University and later a Master’s in Education from George Mason University. He taught math at both high school and college levels for a decade before holding leadership roles in national restaurant brands. He eventually returned to his roots—his passion for education—by joining Mathnasium.
Today, Jeff leads with the belief that math can change lives. He’s committed to creating lasting, positive learning experiences for students and families. Outside of work, Jeff enjoys life with his wife of 28 years, their two dogs, and visits with their three adult children.
