Ray Au

Owner
Ray is the Co-owner of Mathnasium of Mukilteo. He has twenty years of customer service experience in the airlines and financial services industries. Ray is currently serving as Vice President of Financial Advisor at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management in the Greater Seattle area. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Washington. Having struggled in math as a child, Ray understands the challenges faced by students falling behind. He believes that letting children learn math in a fun and engaging environment is the key to develop children's interest in math, which in turn strengthen their understanding and help them succeed. As part of the Mathnasium team, Ray and his wife, Betty, are committed to helping children learn math in a way that makes sense to them. In his free time, Ray enjoys exercising and outdoor activities, as well as spending time with his family and friends.

Gabe

Lead Instructor
Gabe is an instructor at the Mathnasium of Mukilteo. He is currently enrolled in Everett Community college to finish his AAS to transfer to UW of Seattle, where he will pursue his B.S. in Computer Science. He is the current Public Relations Officer for the EvCC STEM Club. Before college, Gabe also participated in the Kamiak Show Band for three years where he learned extensive knowledge about how to lead and work with a large ensemble. While he isn't busy with his extracurricular activities, Gabe loves to play video games, code, play and write music, as well as watch anime.

Humphrey

Instructor
Humphrey is an instructor at Mathnasium of Mukilteo and senior at Kamiak High School. He enjoys STEM-related work and is a part of multiple clubs at school, including being on the board for Model UN. Humphrey also loves playing music and is part of Kamiak’s orchestra and chamber group. He has a younger sister whose homework he helps with, and would love to bring those skills to Mathnasium.

Toko

Instructor
Toko is an instructor at the Mathnasium of Mukilteo. She is a junior at the University of Washington pursuing a B.S. in Chemical Engineering. Fluent in Japanese, she has completed 12 years of Japanese education program in addition to the American system. She hopes to apply her unique perspective to help students approach math in ways that best fit them. Toko is a huge dog lover, spending her weekends volunteering at a local animal shelter working with rescued dogs. In her free time, she enjoys taking walks with her dog, watching anime, and playing RPGs.

Alice

Instructor

Alice is an instructor at Mathnasium of Mukilteo. She is a senior at Kamiak and is involved in the math team, academic coaching program, and writing club there. She enjoys math problems that explore number patterns and their applications. Appreciating the connections they hold in the real world, Alice wants to encourage curious mindsets around these patterns and to give students the confidence that they can apply their knowledge. When not thinking about numbers, Alice enjoys shows and comics about fantasy worlds and occasionally writes her own stories about such worlds.

Bomi

Instructor

Bomi is an instructor at the Mathnasium of Mukilteo and a junior in the University of Washington, Seattle. She is currently pursuing Psychology as her major. With previous experience teaching, Bomi is eager to help students improve their math skills at Mathnasium. Beyond academics, her favourite pastimes include watching movies, indulging in various crafts, and baking delicious desserts for her loved ones.  

Daniel

Instructor

Daniel is a junior at Kamiak High School with a strong passion for mathematics. He is a Senior Patrol leader in Boy Scouts, supporting younger scouts in developing their skills and serving the community. Daniel is an active Kamiak Math Club member who qualified for states two times and aims for a third time. He is also the Secretary of the Computer Science Club and was on the Varsity Tennis Team. Outside of school, Daniel is involved in the Mukilteo Robotics Team as the Head of Education. Daniel likes to work on his coding projects, read, and play games with his friends during his free time.

Solomon

Instructor

Solomon is an instructor at the Mathnasium of Mukilteo. He recently graduated from Grinnell College with a degree in computer science. While at Grinnell College, he was a captain of their men's Ultimate Frisbee team and helped lead them to Division III Nationals for two consecutive years, achieving 10th place both times. He still competes at the club level in the mixed division for the team Seattle Garbage. When not working or playing Ultimate Frisbee, he is an avid baker and cook who enjoys preparing foods from a variety of cuisines.
