Sophia

Assistant Center Director

Sophia holds a B.S. in Psychology from Liberty University and an M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education from Grand Canyon University. She brings broad experience supporting students’ academic, emotional, and cognitive development. 

She loves building strong relationships with families and adapting instruction to meet individual learning styles. Her favorite number is 3 (“Good things always come in threes!”) and her favorite joke is: “All primes are odd, and two is the oddest of them all!” Outside the center, she enjoys fitness and outdoor activities and is driven by a mission to help students build confidence and resilience.


Anthony Ramirez

Instructor

Anthony is a Computer Science student at UNC Charlotte with a deep passion for tutoring. He brings years of experience helping learners from elementary to college-level master math through adaptable, clear instruction. 

Whether he’s explaining foundational concepts or tackling advanced topics, Anthony makes math accessible. His supportive and encouraging approach helps students gain confidence and enthusiasm. He’s excited to contribute to the growth of every student he works with at Mathnasium.

McKenzie Peters

Instructor

McKenzie is a senior at Providence Day School and has been part of the Mathnasium team for over a year. She participates in Honor Council, the Asset Management Board, and both Spanish and Chinese programs. 

She plans to major in Business in college and enjoys helping students grow as mathematicians and individuals. McKenzie brings a positive attitude to every session and believes that with the right support, every student can reach their goals and have fun doing it!

Tanisha Jones

Instructor

Tanisha joined Mathnasium in 2021 and brings years of tutoring experience dating back to 2015. She earned her degree in Clinical Psychology from Troy University and returned to tutoring in 2020 to support families during COVID. 

She is also a Registered Behavior Technician, specializing in crisis intervention and working with children diagnosed with ASD. Tanisha loves Mathnasium’s personalized, engaging approach to math. Outside of work, she enjoys rollerblading, kayaking, hiking, and rock climbing.

Richard Brosius

Instructor
Richard enjoys helping students gain a deeper understanding of math and science. He believes in approaching concepts and problems from multiple perspectives and enjoys helping students develop the necessary skills to succeed at solving problems using conceptual reasoning. Richard received his bachelor's in physics at the University of Buffalo and his Masters in Physics at Purdue. He has 4 years of combined experience teaching high school and college students as well as tutoring. His primary goal is to assist students in gaining a functional understanding of mathematics as well as an appreciation for how math empowers us to solve important technical challenges.
