Tips to Help Your Kids When You're Not a "Math Person"

As the school year is wrapping up parents are looking at the light at then end of the tunnel... for school work at least. While it looks like this summer will look different than those in the past years, there's still a few weeks left of school and that includes helping your kids with their math work.

In a recent New York Times article points out a few educational tips that we at Mathnasium also follow when tutoring students. A couple of these helpful tips include making a visual/drawing a picture, and socratic questioning or asking a leading question to get the student to think of the answer themselves. We are here to meet them where they're at and create their customized learning plan. There are different types of learning styles and at Mathnasium we tap into those whether the student needs mental, verbal, visual, written, or tactile teaching.
