Meet the Team at Mathnasium of Newark

Jason Tong

Jason Tong is an experienced teacher who taught classes in Math, Science, English, History and Computer Science to elementary, middle, high and university level students in the Bay Area. In his prior role, Jason was the lead math and science teacher for middle school students at Mission Dolores Academy in San Francisco. He earned a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of California, Santa Cruz and worked as protein purification chemist, completing clinical trial projects with the highest GMP standards. Jason is passionate about helping students grow to become future leaders in our community. He is looking forward to connecting with Mathnasium families and helping students achieve their academic goals.

Divyata

Divyata has a Masters degree in electrical engineering and is also a registered patent agent. After working at a startup specializing in IC design and power management, she went on to focus on intellectual property and has worked at IP firms in various roles of IP licensing and patent portfolio management, and for the past 8 years has worked at Palo Alto Research Center (PARC). Education has always been an important part of Divyata's life — her parents were both educators in India. Divyata developed a renewed passion for education after volunteering at her two boys' elementary school. She believes that math is a fundamental skill and is passionate about helping kids reach their potential while creating an environment that kids look forward to returning to time and again.
