Mariah McNeal holds a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Baylor University and is currently pursuing an M.S. in Data Science at Boston College.
She loves being part of Mathnasium because it emphasizes making math fun and accessible for every student, believing that learning math should be a joyful experience. Outside of Mathnasium, Mariah enjoys yoga, running, reading, and cooking.
Rose Solomon earned her B.A. and M.A. in math from Boston University. Before becoming an Education Director, Rose spent two years as an instructor at the Newton Center.
Drawn to Mathnasium's teaching philosophies, she joined the team full-time after completing her bachelor's degree. Rose is passionate about curriculum development and enjoys creating new resources to deepen the student experience. In her free time, she pursues hobbies like archery and blacksmithing.
Scott Reding holds a B.A. from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from New York University. Before joining Mathnasium, Scott gained over ten years of experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages, from first graders to undergraduates.
His favorite part of teaching math is providing a conceptual framework for new material and witnessing the moment of recognition in a student’s eyes as everything clicks into place.
Julie Lee finds teaching math most exciting when she sees students experience the "lightbulb moment"—the realization that math is both beautiful and fun.
She enjoys building relationships with her students and helping them discover connections to math in their daily lives. Julie was the first Education Director at West Newton, and after earning her Master's degree, she has returned to continue her passion for math education.
Myrtha Chang holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master's degree in Information Technology from M.I.T. After a successful career in consulting for Oracle Corporation, Myrtha launched the first Mathnasium Center in Massachusetts.
As a Newton parent, she understands the high value families place on math education. Myrtha is proud that kids enjoy coming to Mathnasium, where math makes sense and the learning environment is fun.
Jane started as an instructor all the way in Long Island, NY back in high school, then joined us in Newton after starting her undergraduate degree in Business and Economics with Northeastern University. To further motivate and engage our students at Mathnasium Jane puts together our monthly activity calendars and newsletters. Her goal is to further drive the point that math is not intimidating and can actually draw a smile with the right questions and attitude. In her free time she teaches Yoga, bike rides and loves playing chess.
