Mariah has a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering with a minor in Mathematics from Baylor University and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Data Science at Boston College. Outside of Mathnasium, Mariah enjoys yoga, running, reading, and cooking. Mariah loves being part of Mathnasium because it emphasizes making math fun and accessible for every student. She believes learning math should be a joyful experience!
Rose has a B.A and an M.A in math from Boston University. Before becoming an education director, Rose spent two years as an instructor at the Newton Center. She loved Mathnasium’s teaching philosophies, and jumped at the change to join the team full time after her bachelors. Rose is passionate about curriculum development, and she loves creating new resources to deepen the student experience! In her free time, Rose pursues her hobbies of archery, and blacksmithing.
Scott has a B.A. from the University of Southern California and a master’s degree from New York University. Before coming to Mathnasium, Scott had already accumulated over ten years’ experience teaching and tutoring students of all ages, from first graders to undergrads. Scott’s favorite part of teaching math is providing a conceptual framework for new material and seeing the recognition in a student’s eyes as everything clicks into place.
Julie says that teaching math excites her the most when she sees students experience the “lightbulb moment” – the moment when students realize that math is beautiful and fun! She enjoys making relationships with her students and helping them find connections to math in their day-to-day activities. Julie was the first Education Director at West Newton, went to get her Master’s degree, and is now back!
Jane started as an instructor all the way in Long Island, NY then joined us in Newton after starting her undergraduate degree in Business and Economics with Northeastern University. To further motivate and engage our students at Mathnasium Jane puts together our monthly activity calendars. Always brings a smile to the center and has a contagious positive attitude. In her free time she teaches Yoga lessons since she got her certification.
