Hannah

Administrative Assistant / Instructor
Hanna is a San Francisco Bay Area native. She attends San Francisco State University, and also loves spending her time out in nature, doing things like fishing, riding motocross bikes, and camping. Hannah enjoys working at Mathnasium because she can help students develop problem solving skills that will build confidence when encountering challenges.

Miles

Instructor
Originally from Los Angeles, Miles moved to the Bay Area to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at UC Berkeley. During his undergrad, Miles was surprised to find how heavily algorithmic analysis relied on mathematics for proof of runtime and complexity, sparking a curiosity in higher levels of mathematics. Now, as a Mathnasium Instructor, Miles is excited to help students discover the joy of math that extends beyond numbers and equations, into the realm of everyday life where it finds its practical applications.

Ann

Instructor
Ann is an alumna of UC Berkeley, holding a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in data science. By day, she's a dedicated data analyst at a tech company, unraveling the complexities of numbers and patterns. When the workday concludes, Ann switches gears to indulge in her passion for culinary exploration. A self-proclaimed foodie, she enjoys discovering new restaurants and diverse cuisines. With a strong academic background and real-world experience, Ann is dedicated to imparting valuable mathematical skills to her students at Mathnasium. From her earliest days in elementary school, math has been Ann's favorite subject. Her enduring passion for numbers has carried her through the academic journey and into her professional life, where she continues to tackle mathematical challenges every day. Ann's commitment to math is not just a career choice; it's a lifelong love affair with the beauty and precision of numbers.

April

April is working towards being a clinical laboratory scientist in the future and majoring in biology. In her free time, she likes to crochet, play video games, and listen to music. As much as she loves math, her favorite class in school is Korean. Having been a former tutee herself, she aspires to assist fellow students at Mathnasium, just as she has received help in the past.

Jasper

Instructor
Jasper is a junior at The Nueva School, and has always loved math, even when he had to start writing it down instead of just doing it in his head. In addition to math, his favorite subjects in school are physics, economics and theater. Jasper loves playing guitar, going on hikes, and learning new hobbies! Jasper was born and raised in Noe Valley, and has three siblings.

Aria

Instructor
Aria is a senior at San Francisco University High School. She has always loved math and was a self-proclaimed “mathemagician” beginning in kindergarten. For Aria, the process of math is like unraveling a mystery; she is always up for the challenge and loves sharing that excitement. In addition to math, her favorite subject in school is chemistry. Outside of school, Aria enjoys singing in the Young Women’s Chorus, learning (or trying) to play guitar, baking, and playing basketball for her high school team. She has lived in Noe Valley for her whole life and enjoys trips up 24th street to Easy Breezy.

Maia

Instructor
Maia is a senior at International High School in San Francisco. As a former student at Mathnasium, she's always loved math, and has just recently discovered the joys of teaching such an interesting subject. She enjoys the process of helping students learn concepts that will be used for years to come. During her free time, Maia is passionate about dancing ballet, so you'll often find her rehearsing in the studio. Maia is also a dog lover- she looks forward to playing with her corgi puppy named Bear and taking him on long walks by the beach.

Jayden

Instructor
Jayden is a junior at Lowell high school and has always loved math. He would always help his friends study and with homework whenever they were struggling. Math has always been his favorite subject in school along with classes like physics and photography. Outside of school some of his hobbies include bouldering, Yugioh and Photography. Growing up in San Francisco, he would love taking walks and exploring around the city.

Caterina

Instructor
Originally from Italy, Caterina moved to San Francisco to attend the USF as a Data Science major. Since elementary school, math always felt comfortably challenging and fascinating. In her free time, Caterina loves reading, going to the ocean, discovering new coffee shops, and immersing herself in nature. As the eldest sibling, she's always been the go-to for homework help, fostering a love for teaching and mentoring. This passion led her to tutoring at Mathnasium, where she loves connecting with students, sharing laughs, and helping them with math.

Andre

Center Director
Andre is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Noe Valley. Before opening his Mathnasium center, Andre was the owner of a technology consulting group specializing in research, development, and implementation of Information Systems and Web products. Prior to that, Andre was a Senior Technology Analyst at InfoWorld Magazine/IDG, a weekly IT publication. Having struggled with math as a child, Andre is enthusiastic about helping every child in the San Francisco community to truly understand math by teaching it in the way that makes sense to them. Outside of Mathnasium Andre is somewhat obsessed with ice hockey - he is a fan, a hockey player, and a Board of Directors Member for San Francisco Youth Hockey Association.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
