Olivia

Center Director

Originally from the great state of Texas, Olivia spent her youth in Dallas before moving to Austin to attend the University of Texas. After graduating with degrees in Economics and Theatre & Dance, as well as minors in Russian and Spanish, Olivia moved to San Francisco last fall. In her free time, Olivia enjoys solving crossword puzzles, admiring all the cute dogs in Mission Dolores Park, and embroidering. Olivia has always loved math, and hopes that by working at Mathnasium she can share her joy of learning with others.

Greg

Instructor

Greg is a graduate student at San Francisco State University, pursuing a degree in business analytics. He earned his mathematics degree from UC Santa Cruz in 2024 and is excited to continue his journey with math. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and tennis, as well as experimenting in the kitchen. As an instructor at Mathnasium, Greg loves inspiring students and fostering their curiosity and enthusiasm for math.

Dan

Instructor

Dan is a UC Berkeley alumnus with a Bachelor's degree in Cognitive Science. Originally from Lodi, he moved to the Bay Area for college and has called it home ever since. With a lifelong passion for math, he is especially fascinated by Bayesian statistics and physics and their applications in everyday life. At Mathnasium, he enjoys sharing his love for math and inspiring appreciation for its many connections. Beyond math, Dan's interests include powerlifting, photography, and cooking. He also has a passion for trivia and loves broadening others’ horizons with new facts while helping in any way he can.

Jem

Instructor

Jem is a biology student at San Francisco State University, specializing in ecology, evolution, and conservation. Alongside balancing coursework and a job, they work as a data analyst for a climate research lab. In their free time, they enjoy reading, writing, and playing video games. Jem is passionate about mentoring students, believing that no one should be discouraged from pursuing their interests just because something seems challenging. Having once thought they weren’t good at math, they now find themselves running statistical analyses for a climate research lab.

Hannah

Instructor

Hanna is a San Francisco Bay Area native. She attends San Francisco State University, and also loves spending her time out in nature, doing things like fishing, riding motocross bikes, and camping. Hannah enjoys working at Mathnasium because she can help students develop problem solving skills that will build confidence when encountering challenges.

Nora

Instructor

Nora, an undergraduate computer science student at the University of San Francisco, hails from sunny San Diego, where her love for the beach and tacos began. In her free time, she enjoys crafting ceramics, strumming her guitar, and diving into hackathons. A true math enthusiast—well, let’s just say it’s pretty obvious!

Matthew

Instructor

Matthew grew up in Temecula, California, and is currently studying electrical engineering at San Francisco State University. In his free time, he enjoys playing hockey and chess, as well as cooking and baking—especially apple pie. His passion for math and science started at a young age, and he always knew it was the path he wanted to pursue. At Mathnasium, he hopes to help students reach their goals and spark their own excitement for math.

Zoe

Instructor

Zoé is a student at the International School of San Francisco. Originally from France, she moved to the U.S. five years ago. Her passion for math began during her time in the Mathnasium program, where she discovered that math could be both exciting and fun. That realization ignited her enthusiasm, and now she’s eager to pass that same excitement on to her students, hoping to inspire a love for math in them as well. Outside of teaching, Zoé enjoys drawing and practicing circus acrobatics, especially aerial silks.

Matteo

Instructor


Matteo was born in Dallas, Texas, but grew up in San Francisco, where he lives with his parents and sister. A junior at Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory, he enjoys history and math, subjects he has loved since childhood. Matteo takes pleasure in recognizing patterns, solving problems, and helping friends with their math homework. His passion for math and enthusiasm for working with kids led him to become an instructor at Mathnasium. Outside of school, he plays soccer for the San Francisco Glens, hikes at Pacific with his mom, and listens to music. He also speaks Italian with his grandma every day.

Olin

Instructor

Olin, a San Francisco native, is a junior at Lick-Wilmerding High School with a lifelong passion for math. He enjoys solving puzzles and began teaching friends how to solve the Rubik's Cube at an early age. Alongside math, he is particularly interested in physics and history. A longtime basketball fan, Olin loves discussing players from all eras. In his free time, he enjoys eating sushi, playing guitar, and challenging his family to board and word games.

Felix

Instructor

Felix is a student at The Nueva School with a passion for exploring diverse subjects, from physics and chemistry to welding and woodworking. He enjoys applying math to analyze baseball statistics, particularly those of MLB players—especially the Giants. In his free time, Felix plays the piano, devours books, and picks up fun new skills like riding a hoverboard, spinning pens, and performing magic tricks. A lifelong San Francisco resident, he shares his home with his three siblings.

Aria

Instructor

Aria is a senior at San Francisco University High School. She has always loved math and was a self-proclaimed “mathemagician” beginning in kindergarten. For Aria, the process of math is like unraveling a mystery; she is always up for the challenge and loves sharing that excitement. In addition to math, her favorite subject in school is chemistry. Outside of school, Aria enjoys singing in the Young Women’s Chorus, learning (or trying) to play guitar, baking, and playing basketball for her high school team. She has lived in Noe Valley for her whole life and enjoys trips up 24th street to Easy Breezy.

Ann

Instructor

Ann is an alumna of UC Berkeley, holding a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics and a master's degree in data science. By day, she's a dedicated data analyst at a tech company, unraveling the complexities of numbers and patterns. When the workday concludes, Ann switches gears to indulge in her passion for culinary exploration. A self-proclaimed foodie, she enjoys discovering new restaurants and diverse cuisines. With a strong academic background and real-world experience, Ann is dedicated to imparting valuable mathematical skills to her students at Mathnasium. From her earliest days in elementary school, math has been Ann's favorite subject. Her enduring passion for numbers has carried her through the academic journey and into her professional life, where she continues to tackle mathematical challenges every day. Ann's commitment to math is not just a career choice; it's a lifelong love affair with the beauty and precision of numbers.

Andre

Center Director

Andre is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Noe Valley. Before opening his Mathnasium center, Andre was the owner of a technology consulting group specializing in research, development, and implementation of Information Systems and Web products. Prior to that, Andre was a Senior Technology Analyst at InfoWorld Magazine/IDG, a weekly IT publication. Outside of Mathnasium Andre is somewhat obsessed with ice hockey - he is a fan, a hockey player, and a Board of Directors Member for San Francisco Youth Hockey Association. As if hockey obsession is not enough, he often attends music shows all over US, and spends time fantasizing about owning a garage full of classic muscle cars.
