Mathnasium Opens its First Center in India!

Jun 21, 2019 | Norman

Another first for Mathnasium’s international growth! In May, India’s first location opened its doors in the city of Bengaluru (previously called Bangalore). Himadri Bora heads Principia Mathematica India Private Limited, the area developer for the entire country. He holds a master’s degree in education from Harvard University and a bachelor’s degree in statistics from the University of Delhi. He and his wife, Sukanya, worked tirelessly to open an impressive ground-floor location in the neighborhood of Jayanagar. Himadri has heard from many parents that the location is perfect, and they are very impressed by how bright and inviting the center is.

Parents have high expectations for their children in Bengaluru and value the importance of strong “maths” skills. Driving around the city, you will see banners with students’ photographs for programs that promise to make your child a “Topper.” Although the Bengaluru market is full of low-cost private tutors and a handful of education concepts, parents perceive Mathnasium as a breath of fresh air, because no other program provides our quality of education or service.

Himadri’s plan is to open, own and operate 50 locations across India over the next six years. The initial plan for growth is to open several centers in Bengaluru, and Himadri has already scouted potential neighborhoods. After that, he will expand to the other Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities.

Welcome to the Mathnasium family, Himadri and Sukanya!
