After leading Mathnasium of North Beverly to become the #1 center in New England, Sarah is excited to bring that same success to North Andover. With over a decade of experience in education, she’s passionate about helping students develop confidence and a true understanding of math through personalized instruction.
Sarah began her Mathnasium career in 2016 and has over a decade of experience in education. She’s passionate about making math meaningful and believes true understanding, not memorization, builds lasting confidence.
When she’s not at Mathnasium, Sarah teaches future educators at Endicott College and Harvard University, inspiring future educators to make learning meaningful. She loves seeing students transform their outlook on math, and believes that when math makes sense, confidence and excitement grows, grades improve, and doors open, turning every student into a confident math thinker.
Zalia earned her B.S. in Mathematics and Spanish from Amherst College and an M.Ed. in Educational Research from Boston College. Her background includes working with student-athletes, supporting learners in quantitative subjects, and teaching middle school math and science.
At Mathnasium, Zalia loves seeing students’ “aha” moments and helping them grow in confidence and curiosity. Her calm, caring approach makes her a trusted guide for learners at every level.
Sully graduated with honors from Northeastern University with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and brings years of hands-on experience from companies like Hasbro and SharkNinja.
Since he started teaching at Mathnasium in 2018, Sully has inspired countless students with his compassion, enthusiasm, and humor. Outside of the center, he enjoys board games, strategy challenges, and spreading his love for math wherever he goes.
Rachel earned her B.S. in Applied Mathematics from Endicott College and joined the Mathnasium team in 2020. Her teaching journey began as a STEM camp facilitator, where she discovered her passion for helping students find joy in math.
When she’s not teaching, Rachel enjoys biking along the coast and skiing. She also serves as the Student Success Director at the North Beverly center!
Cy inherited a talent for thoughtful communication through his close-knit family. Being an older brother and cousin allowed him to develop a love for tutoring and helping the people close to him grow. That practice then allowed him to extend his help to his high school peers in 2020-24. Cy has participated in multiple peer mentoring classes and has an above-average level of understanding of mathematics overall. Community outreach is an important quality he holds. He makes sure never to miss opportunities at his church, college, and even workplace to better himself and others' well-being while also keeping a courteous and professional demeanor. What to expect when working with Cy is an optimistic attitude at all curves of one’s learning journey. He understands that no math class is the same, and lessons for each course have many differences. Knowing this, you can expect this instructor to go out of his way if needed to reach a new understanding of learning. Despite the obstacles and challenges, his optimism will ensure that even a below-average score is progress. Like all of the staff here at Mathnasium, Cy is here to transform your child's educational experience into a fun and meaningful adventure.
Cire developed his love for mentoring by helping younger relatives and classmates grow in their confidence with math. Through peer mentoring and community outreach, he’s learned how to adapt to different learning styles and inspire persistence through challenges.
At Mathnasium, Cire brings optimism and encouragement to every session. He believes every student can succeed and loves helping them discover that math can be both fun and meaningful.
After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics from the University of Vermont, Haywood was eager to share his passion for math with learners of all ages. He believes that anyone can succeed in mathematics with the right tools and guidance. His teaching emphasizes building intuition and understanding the fundamental principles of the subject, helping students develop both confidence and curiosity.
Beyond the classroom, Haywood’s interests include music and art. During his studies, he was especially drawn to exploring the fascinating intersections between math and music, and how each discipline can illuminate the other. With experience teaching math at every level, Haywood is always excited to engage students in meaningful conversations about mathematics—no matter their starting point.
Mary earned her Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, focusing on computational modeling for sustainable materials. She also teaches college-level math at Endicott College.
She’s passionate about making STEM engaging and accessible for learners of all ages. Outside the classroom, Mary enjoys inspiring curiosity through creative science communication and lifelong learning.
Ian is an experienced and dedicated Mathnasium Instructor with a passion for teaching and a talent for making learning fun. With a background in statistics, composition, and computer science tutoring, Ian has spent over 8 years helping students of all ages and levels master the intricacies of math. Ian firmly believes that bringing math into real-life examples, and even fictional scenarios, is crucial for engaging students and making learning enjoyable. With his infectious enthusiasm and creative approach to education, Ian has transformed the lives of countless students, helping them unlock their potential and achieve their academic goals.
Sam earned his BS Chemistry with an additional degree in Graphic Design. By day, Sam is a distinguished researcher, and by night, he transforms into a stellar Mathnasium Instructor, imparting his knowledge and passion for math to eager young minds. With over 6 years of experience as a Mathnasium Instructor, his boundless enthusiasm and unwavering commitment to spreading the joy of math is a testament to his character and dedication to the arts and sciences.
