Camp Mathnasium is a week-long morning camp for students ages 6-12. Students will learn face-to-face with trained math instructors, explore STEAM activities, and play engaging math and critical thinking games! Camp Mathnasium is a great way to keep your child's brain engaged this summer while keeping their math skills sharp for the next school year. Enjoy a dynamic learning experience at our summer camp, where campers delve into hands-on exploration of STEAM concepts.
Games and Activities Include:
Ratios with slime: Students will adjust the ratios in a recipe for slime and make predictions of how the added ingredients will affect their slime’s color or consistency. This is a great hands on experiment on how varying ratios affect outcomes.
Gumdrop Bridge Using Shapes: Students will explore the strength of 2D and 3D shapes. Afterwards, students will construct a bridge using toothpicks and gumdrops to support as many quarters as possible.
Graphing Data with Origami Boats: Students will construct boats out of varying materials and test their strength by seeing how many pennies they can support. Afterwards, students will graph their data using different types of graphs.
Math Bingo: Students will put their numerical fluency to the test through a fun game of math bingo.
