Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Steven

Assistant Center Director

Steven joined Mathnasium in 2021 and quickly discovered his passion for helping students build a solid understanding of math. He is currently studying Computer Science at the University of Washington, blending technical expertise with a love for education.

He especially enjoys seeing the “aha” moments when concepts click for students. In his free time, Steven enjoys gaming, watching movies, and exploring Seattle’s food scene.

Mary

Instructor

Mary is a second-year Data Science student at the University of Washington. She has experience tutoring peers and working with children across a range of subjects and grade levels.

Mary enjoys building connections with students and helping them find success in math through clear explanations and positive reinforcement. In her downtime, she enjoys esports, games, and trying fun internet recipes.

Sophia

Instructor

Sophia grew up in the greater Seattle area and has been working at Mathnasium for the past 2 years. She loves building connections with students and enjoys seeing them develop a love for math. Currently, she is pursuing an engineering degree at the University of Washington. In her free time, Sophia enjoys practicing guitar, thrifting, and playing video games.

Albert

Instructor
Albert is from South Korea and is a rising junior at the University of Washington studying chemistry and biology, and pursuing a career in the medical field. He has had multiple math and science tutoring experiences with students from primary school to high school. He loves soccer, swimming, and skiing. He enjoys teaching math at Mathnasium, and is hoping to teach more kids!

Tim

Director, Mathnasium @Home
Tim was born and raised in Spokane, Washington, and moved to Puyallup after getting married in 2020. He holds both a BA and MS in Mathematics from Eastern Washington University where he also loved being a math instructor for 10 years. Seeing students of any age have that light bulb moment when the concept they've been working on finally clicks fully for them is what Tim lives for. In his spare time he enjoys playing guitar and singing for friends as well as acting and singing in community theatre productions.
