Jan 13, 2023 | North Fontana

Today you’ll get a glimpse into the happenings of your local center as we follow students through their first experience at Mathnasium of North Fontana.

Q: What is the first thing a brand new student does at your center?

A: Introduce them to all of our wonderful instructors and give them a tour of the center

Q: What is the comprehensive assessment? How long does it take to finish?

A: A comprehensive assessment is a tool developed by Mathnasium to help us understand how a student is operating relative to their current age and respective set of knowledge. With that understanding, depending on grade level we look at different sets of Arithmetic, Computational and Algorithmic ability. The results of the assessment are not broken down by a simple percentage, but rather a comprehensive look at the key elements of each topic that a student needs for moving forward mathematically. The key to our assessment process is the ability for the assessor to work with the students and really dive into who they are right then and there.

Typically an assessment takes about an hour give or take about 10 minutes. The lessons that any parent can learn about their student often brings them closer together to a point of mutual understanding.

Q: How often should I bring my student to Mathnasium of North Fontana?
