1. What is the most common thing you see in new students coming to Mathnasium for the first time?

A: There is a significant stigma that has taken effect when it comes to getting any supplemental instruction outside of school. When most students come to the Mathnasium of North Fontana, there is a significant amount of anxiety at the start of their visit and then they pleasantly realize that this environment isn't as scary or as overbearing as they instinctively thought it would be.

2. If there was one thing you could tell parents before they bring their student to Mathnasium what would it be?

A: The struggle and strife that you may be feeling is very typical and our community is full of supportive parents that felt just as you do.

3. What things do the most successful students have in common?

A: The most successful students have the understanding that interacting with our instructors yields many sets of rewards, academic benefits, and you get to enjoy an environment that is sociable and relaxing.

4. What are some of the ways you teach math to your students?

A: We use a wide variety of items from actual coins, manipulatives, verbal and visual. We do have other supplemental objects in here that are used in conjunction with the instruction. If it comes down to it, we also turn a portion of the center into an activity area for the students to work with items directly as opposed to having to visualize everything on paper.

5. What do you think is the coolest thing about Mathnasium?

A: I think that the coolest thing about Mathnasium is the idea that everyone can come to a location, focus on one specific goal, objective or even dream, and understand something that's seemingly an unsurmountable task.
