Destin

Assistant Director
Destin is an undergrad studying Mathematics and Business Adminsitartion at UNLV, where he's been learning higher math and honing his leadership and organization skills. Destin has been a Mathnasium for just over 5 years, starting in his senior year of high school as a simple instructor at the Aliante and North Las Vegas locations. Now, he is the Assistant Center Director for North Las Vegas! In his time here, he’s seen many kids come and go, as well as develop into their own people as they improve in their math skills and confidence. Destin is expected to graduate in Spring of 2024 with his Bachelor’s. Destin has a deep love for brand new white sneakers, jungle music and the stair master!

Sydney

Lead Instructor
Sydney is a college student at UNLV majoring in engineering. She loves teaching, working with kids, and math, so where better to work than Mathnasium! In her free time, she enjoys reading and relaxing while watching TV. She hopes to combine her math skills with her love of movies and TV by focusing her career on set design, specifically for Claymation films. She has been working at Mathnasium for 4 years and has loved every minute.

Saul

Lead Instructor
Saul is an alumni of the University of Texas at Arlington, where he pursued a doctorate in data science, following his B.S. in applied mathematics from Cal Poly Pomona. With multiple years of tutoring and teaching experience he has honed his skills in simplifying complex concepts for students of all ages.

Sydney D.

Instructor
Sydney (Jamie) was born in Fairfax, Virginia and moved to Las Vegas in 2007. She has graduated from Advanced Technologies Academy in 2022, earning a College and Career Ready diploma in Graphic Design and Digitial Game Development. She is currently attending University of Nevada, Las Vegas, majoring in elementary education. In her free time, she loves to work on various creative projects, including digital art, animation, and video production.

Benjamin

Instructor
Ben is a recent alumni of Brigham Young University-Idaho in Mathematical Sciences. He has lived in Las Vegas most of his life, attending Clark High School's Academy of Math, Science, and Applied Technology where he learned to appreciate and love mathematics. His favorite subjects in Mathematics are Statistics, Probability and Algebra. As he works at Mathnasium, he hopes to help others find an appreciation for mathematics by helping others through his knowledge. He aspires to eventually become a Statistician and gain a masters degree in statistics.

Orethia

Instructor
Orethia was born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada and is currently a senior at Nevada State High School where they take Calculus I and Statistics. Recently, Orethia has been accepted to Case Western Reserve University where she will be attending in the Fall of 2024 to study Nursing. Orethia's love and passion for math developed at a very young age because of a very special teacher she had in elementary school. Orethia hopes to be able to inspire and encourage other young people to be confident in their academic abilities during her time at Mathnasium. As cheesy as it sounds, Orethia preaches time and time again how math transformed their life.

Dan Saposhnik

Director of Operations
Dan graduated from the University of Arizona in 1985 with a B.S. in Microbiology and from Hofstra University's Graduate School of Business in 1990 with an MBA in Accounting. He worked as a CPA with public accounting firm Price Waterhouse and has built successful companies in various fields including real estate and executive recruiting. Dan's passion for teaching and love for working with kids is rooted in family tradition. His mother was a highly regarded principal in Las Vegas for nearly 30 years. Dan has taught and tutored children of all ages and was a mentor for underprivileged children. Dan is committed to significantly increasing Las Vegas children's math skills, their understanding of math concepts and their overall school performance. "We provide lots of warm encouragement in a very positive learning environment so that children build their confidence and develop a winning attitude towards math. Our kids learn math in a way that makes sense to them. They get excited about math and this spirit carries over into everything they do."

Laurie Wasser Saposhnik

Director of Marketing and Community Outreach
Laurie graduated from UCLA in 1986 with a B.A. in Communication Studies. Prior to joining Mathnasium, Laurie worked for various Fortune 500 high tech companies such as IBM, SAP, EMC, TIBCO and MicroStrategy. Laurie's passion for teaching and love for working with kids is rooted in family tradition. Her father taught special education at the high school level for over 30 years in California. Laurie is committed to partnering with the Las Vegas community to increase Las Vegas children's math skills, their understanding of math concepts and their confidence in their ability to be successful.
