Lupe graduated from California State University of Northridge with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She joined Mathnasium so that she could make a difference in supporting students in their academic and social growth. She is passionate about building a safe and welcoming environment where students are encouraged to be confident and eager to learn math. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her dogs and turtle, reading, and going to the beach.
Shabana has been working as an instructor at Mathnasium since 2021 and is currently obtaining her teaching credentials through a program with Cal State University Northridge. Math was her favorite subject through High School, and she used to help her friends who struggled in math by showing them different perspectives of concepts to help them understand them. She strives to help students build confidence in math by helping create a fun and positive learning environment at Mathnasium. During her free time, Shabana likes to spend time with family watching movies or playing board games, reading, or playing golf.
Jaline currently attends COC as a nutrition major. She excelled in AP and Honors math classes throughout high school and after being enrolled as a private student at Mathnasium, took an interest in children's education. Jaline wants to help kids understand concepts that may be difficult for them in order to better their understanding of math. In her free time, she likes to spend time with her family, listen to music, and go places with her friends.
Eric first started working at Mathnasium because he always had an adept ability to learn, understand, and as it turns out, teach math. Eric is in his second year of schooling at College of the Canyons and plans to transfer to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. At Mathnasium, Eric excels at communicating with students, being encouraging, and helping students better understand math. In his free time, Eric enjoys playing music, getting active, and watching movies and TV shows. Eric is always looking for ways to improve himself and become the best instructor he can be.
Nathan is currently a senior at Valencia High School. He has a strong passion for math, which has been a consistent area of success throughout his education. After high school, he hopes to major in chemistry and aspires to join the medical field. Nathan is dedicated to helping students understand math in new ways and finds satisfaction in seeing others work to grasp challenging concepts. In his free time, Nathan finds joy in traveling, watching shows and movies, sketching, and taking photos.
Sam graduated from Boise State University in December 2023 with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and a minor in Business. Sam is passionate about math and has always enjoyed helping others. He wanted to work at Mathnasium because he loves that he’s making a real difference in these students’ lives and can see how they’re progressing in math as time goes on. He also loves working with and connecting with the students. In his spare time, Sam likes to read, play games with friends, and spend time with family.
Nick is currently a senior attending Saugus High School. He is currently dual enrolling at Saugus and COC and planning to major in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering. Throughout Nick’s high school path he helped friends and strangers to see math the way he saw it and helped them succeed with problems they didn’t think they could ever do. In his free time Nick likes to play sports such as volleyball and basketball as well as spend time with his friends and family.
Jodeen is currently a junior attending Saugus High School and wants to major in computer science in the future. Throughout high school, she's been successful in math classes and looks forward to tutoring others and helping them become confident in math. In her free time, Jodeen enjoys crocheting, hanging out with friends, and playing video games.
Jack was initially hired to work at Mathnasium as an instructor. He quickly resonated with the Mathnasium mission to change children's lives through math and rose through the ranks to become Center Director. He has always believed in creating a learning environment where students feel welcomed and encouraged to reach their full potential. In his free time, Jack enjoys finding new things to learn and explore everyday, whether it’s trying a new food or meeting new people he is always trying to grow personally and professionally. Jack's strong dedication, warm personality, and commitment to learning makes him an exceptional member of the Mathnasium team and he is thrilled to see his students thrive!
