Mr. James

Instructor

James is a Licensed Washington state math teacher with a decade of classroom experience. He has taught a wide range of courses, including prealgebra, algebra, geometry, precalculus, AP Statistics, and AP Calculus. A Marysville Pilchuck High School graduate, James went on to earn degrees from Whitman College, Seattle University, and ITESO.

Beyond teaching, James is a soccer enthusiast who played varsity in college and now follows the Seattle Sounders. He enjoys hiking, biking, and spending time with loved ones. At Mathnasium, he is passionate about guiding students to grow in both math understanding and confidence.

Mr. Gavin

Instructor

I love learning and teaching math concepts as they can help us view the world and the universe. Currently I’m working on a Physics degree at University of Washington Bothell, where I’ve worked on a Physics Education Research project. I’ve studied how students think through problems and have learned what to teach them to help them succeed. I’ve also taken many math courses so I know what topics are most important for students to learn well. I like to make math more fun by introducing easier and faster techniques to help students feel more confident about math.

Ms. Nikitha M

Lead Instructor

Nikitha holds a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and a Master’s in Structural Engineering from Georgia Tech. She spent over 10 years working as a structural engineer, building strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Now an instructor at Mathnasium, she combines her technical background with a passion for teaching. Nikitha enjoys helping students build confidence in math by breaking down complex concepts into simple, clear steps and creating a positive, encouraging learning environment

Annie

Instructor

Currently a student at Edmonds College, she balances her love for the subject with a deep-seated passion for mentorship. She believes that with the right support, any student can move from frustration to fluency.

Annie’s approach is centered on more than just numbers; she focuses on building the confidence and problem-solving skills that serve students far beyond the classroom. By showing kids how math translates to everyday life, she makes learning both approachable and rewarding. Her goal for every session is to replace intimidation with a sense of accomplishment and a genuine smile.

Personal Goal: To help every student realize that math is a skill they can master.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
