Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Beverly Lewis

Lead Instructor

Beverly taught algebra, pre-algebra, and general mathematics for grades 6-8 in the Southeast Delco School District. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Millersville University and a Master of Education from Widener University.

After retiring from public education, she missed teaching and student interaction. At Mathnasium, she found both—along with an excellent curriculum that helps students truly understand math. She loves being part of a learning environment where students can thrive.

Melissa Jones

Instructor

Melissa works as an advisor for the Hospitality Department at the University of Delaware and completed her MBA in Strategic Leadership in 2024. She has always loved math and helping others, making Mathnasium the perfect fit!

Outside of work, Melissa has been dancing for 20 years in multiple styles, performing across the U.S. and in Costa Rica. She also enjoys cooking, baking, and crocheting. She loves seeing students grow in confidence and is excited to share her passion for math at Mathnasium.

Peggie Weader

Instructor

Peggie recently retired after 27 years of teaching math, both in the U.S. and West Africa, where she even learned French to teach abroad. She holds a Mathematics degree from Hartwick College and two master’s degrees in Secondary Math Education and Applied Educational Technology.

She believes the most important part of teaching math is helping students overcome the idea that they "can't do math"—because they absolutely can! Peggie is excited to continue inspiring students at Mathnasium.

Dan Dougherty

Instructor

Dan’s love for math began during his mechanical engineering studies at Deltech, where he later taught and tutored math. After five years in education, he transitioned to construction but always hoped to return to teaching. In 2023, he joined Mathnasium, reigniting his passion for math and education.

When he’s not teaching, Dan enjoys playing board games with friends and participating in his lodge as an Oddfellow. He is excited to help students develop their math skills and confidence at Mathnasium.

Shreya Bose

Instructor
Shreya is a student at Garnet Valley High School and is interested in pursuing a higher education in astronomy, mathematics, and physics. In her spare time, Shreya loves to volunteer for Amnesty International and The Bengali Association of Delaware Valley. Her extracurricular activities include competitive dance, playing violin in the orchestra, participating in Science Olympiad, and tennis. Shreya loves sharing her knowledge of mathematics and enthusiasm for the subject with others.

Seemy Hodge

Instructor

Seemy Hodge graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics. During his time at UD, Seemy was a tutor for the Mathematical Sciences Learning Laboratory (MSLL) and a Statistics Mentor for Math 114: College Mathematics & Statistics. Seemy is passionate about using his knowledge and experience to inspire and support students in their mathematical journeys.

Shreeya Ilayanambi

Instructor

Shreeya is a junior at Garnet Valley High School with a passion for math. She enjoys helping others discover the beauty of math as an instructor at Mathnasium. Outside of her love for numbers, Shreeya has a twin brother and an older brother, and she values spending time with her friends and family. When she’s not teaching or solving math problems, you can find her reading or enjoying quality time with loved ones.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
