Vishnu

Associate Center Director

Vishnu is a sophomore at the University of California, Irvine, pursuing a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and B.A. in Economics. Discovering his passion for teaching during high school, Vishnu has been tutoring and mentoring students since the age of 14 through various avenues, including as a research mentor for high school students through NASA. In his free time, Vishnu competitively solves Rubik's Cubes, listens to music, and loves to try new foods!

Richard

Associate Center Director

Richard graduated from UCR with an MBA focus on Marketing and held a Bachelor's in Business Administration and Physics. As a former TA in marketing and management math at UCR, his ultimate goal is to help students build a strong math foundation while fostering an engaging learning environment. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, reading, and working out.

Greg

Assistant Director
Gregory Dharman M.A.T. graduated from UCI with a Master's in Teaching and a Bachelor's in Mathematics specializing in Secondary School Teaching. He is also an IUSD teacher with experience on IVA and in-person instruction. With years of experience teaching taekwondo and being a public school teacher, he has a passion for changing lives and helping kids reach their fullest potential in anything they do. During this free time, he likes to eat good food and watch his favorite team, the LA Lakers, play basketball. One interesting fact about him is that he was an alternate member for the US National Taekwondo Team in 2013 and 2014.

Ryan

Lead Instructor
Ryan is a computer science student and game designer. Ryan has been tutoring for 7 years in many subjects and he has 2 years of previous Mathnasium experience. Ryan has worked with students of all ages and finds the most rewarding part of teaching to be the smile on the students faces when they finally understand a topic. During his free time Ryan hangs out with friends, makes and plays video games.

Tristan

Instructor
Tristan is a Senior at the University of California, Irvine, pursuing a B.S. in Earth System Science. As a high school student, He developed his passion for teaching as a Taekwondo instructor. In his free time he loves to play video games, lift weights and cook.

Sadie

Instructor
Sadie graduated from Vassar College in New York with a BS in Biology, with an emphasis in Animal Science. She has many family members who work with children, so she developed a deep appreciation for children and their unique personalities and ways of learning. She has tutored in many subjects since high school, and loves to help students grow more confidence in themselves. In the future, she plans to attend veterinary school abroad and receive a DVM. In her free time, she loves going to the beach, reading, going to festivals, and working with animals.

Daniyal

Instructor
Currently planning to attend as a first-year UCI student as a biomedical engineering pre-med major, Daniyal has developed a passion and love for tutoring to help students ever since the beginning of high school. He does peer tutoring throughout his school in a club called the Future Endeavors in STEM, and has scored well and done private tutoring in various AP subjects, and has work experience with Boeing over the summer in the Chemistry lab. In his free time, he tutors students in Quranic Arabic, plays club basketball, volleyball, works out, and spends time with friends and family

Euan

Instructor
Euan graduated from UCSD with a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics-Computer Science. Euan has always enjoyed pursuing math and began tutoring coding to children as a job during college. He now tutors Math and Computer Science and loves being able to share his knowledge with others to get younger students interested in these subjects. In his free time, he loves to play video games with friends, collect Hot Wheels and Yu-Gi-Oh! cards, and watch TV or movies such as Star Wars with his partner and two cats.

Nathaniel

Instructor
Nathaniel is currently getting his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering. Nathaniel’s career with math began at a very early age with his grandma who forced him to practice everyday. At the start it wasn’t very fun, however throughout the years he began to love and cherish the beauty of math and its undeniable importance. He is grateful for the skills he has obtained and hopes to pass it on to the children as well as show them how amazing math truly is. Some fun facts about Nathaniel are that he worked as an electrician, can speak Hungarian, and loves old electronics. When he is not working he loves swimming, weightlifting and reading.

Emmy

Instructor
Emmy is a student at Irvine Valley College working towards her BA in philosophy with a focus in pre-law. Throughout High School and the start of college, she tutored students of all ages in math. These experiences helped develop her passion for teaching and education. In her free time, Emmy loves to listen to classical music, read, and play video games.

Shinya

Instructor
Shinya graduated from University of California Berkeley with a B.S in Environmental Economics and Policies. He grew up in Irvine and went to Culverdale Elementary School, South Lake Middle School, and Woodbridge High School. During his time at UC Berkeley, Shinya tutored students at the school’s Japanese department. One interesting fact about him is that he’s been playing soccer professionally since 2019. During his free time, Shinya likes to go to coffeeshops, play video games, and workout.

Poorvi

Instructor

Poorvi has been an instructor at Mathnasium since the summer of 2024. She is currently a student at the University of California, Irvine to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering. She decided to join Mathnasium to help young students to improve in numeracy, math skills, and critical thinking. As a student herself, she understands how difficult it can be to understand certain concepts and hopes to provide the guidance required to fully grasp them. When she has free time, she spends her time at a dance studio or library.

Payton

Instructor
Payton is currently attending University of California, Irvine with a Biological Sciences major. She is studying to go to medical school to become a surgeon. Throughout high school, she has tutored many students in math and chemistry, and she finds it the most rewarding when students finally understand a topic and grow more confidence in themselves. In her free time, she enjoys playing video games, reading, and working out.

Alex

Instructor
Alex recently graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics from University of California, Irvine. He has loved education since high school and has worked in various instructor and tutor roles throughout his life. In his free time, Alex loves to play video games, cook, and spend time with friends and family.

Ali

Mathnasium
Ali is a senior at Legacy Magnet Academy. He was a former Mathnasium student for 8 years and over that time has taken many math classes through IVC and now wants to use his passion for tutoring to help students with math. In his free time, Ali likes playing and watching basketball as well as competing in robotics competitions through his high school program.

Derek

Instructor

Derek graduated with a B.S. in Mathematics from Cal Poly Pomona and is currently working toward his Teaching Credential to teach at the middle school level. With three years of tutoring experience, Derek is dedicated to helping students of all ages build confidence and reach their full potential. He strives to inspire a love for learning and foster curiosity that lasts a lifetime. Outside of tutoring, Derek enjoys playing tennis, watching anime, and spending time with friends and family.

Ethan

Instructor

Ethan is a student at UCI studying quantitative economics and accounting. His favorite part about teaching math is helping students understand math that they thought was difficult. In his free time, Ethan likes to watch football and play lacrosse.
