Ricky J. Woo brings a unique blend of high-growth startup grit and global enterprise leadership to the learning center. Having honed his strategic expertise at global titans like Oracle, Ricky specializes in building scalable, world-class environments. After successfully exiting his tech venture and spending a year traveling the globe with his family, he relocated from Australia to California to build a lasting local legacy.
As a Mathnasium Multi-Center Owner, Ricky infuses an entrepreneurial spirit into education, running his centers less like traditional classrooms and more like high-energy training grounds for the next generation of leaders and innovators. As a proud dad of four adventure-loving kids, he knows firsthand that confidence, critical thinking, and problem-solving are vital for the future. Ricky teaches his students that complex problems are simply opportunities to grow, helping them master the logic and persistence needed to engineer their own paths.
Outside the center, you’ll find Ricky exploring the outdoors with his family, planning their next adventure, and fueled by plenty of great coffee!
Ashleigh Woo is the Owner and Operations Director of Mathnasium of Carson, where she combines operational expertise with a heart for community impact. With a professional background in systems management and process improvement, she ensures the center runs smoothly while keeping the focus on student growth, encouragement, and measurable progress for every family served.
She believes math should be a source of confidence, not stress, and works to create a welcoming environment where students feel supported and motivated. Outside of Mathnasium, Ashleigh enjoys family adventures, travel, and building connections in her new community.
Aseel Khatib combines a sharp mathematical mind with a warm, collaborative approach to teaching. Currently studying Mechanical Engineering, Aseel loves showing students how the math they learn at the center applies to the real world.
A natural team player, Aseel spends free time playing soccer with friends and stays grounded by spending plenty of quality time with family. Aseel’s goal at Mathnasium is to make every student feel capable, supported, and excited to learn.
Kristin Fan is currently studying Business Administration at Chapman University, but her passion for logic and structure doesn't stop at the classroom door. A master of precision, she loves spending her spare time building intricate LEGO masterpieces and working on detailed sewing projects, both of which require the exact same spatial skills and problem-solving she uses to help students piece together tough math concepts! When she’s not at the center or hitting the books, Kristin loves experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen and hanging out with her two favorite feline sidekicks.
Ethan Ly was born and raised right here in Orange County, he is a recent graduate from the University of California, Riverside, where he earned his Bachelor’s degree in Biochemistry. Ethan knows firsthand that whether you are analyzing molecular structures or tracking high-speed physics in motorsports, math is the underlying engine. He brings that same high-energy enthusiasm for problem-solving to the Mathnasium team, helping students see the real-world power of math. When he’s not coaching at the center, Ethan loves staying active in nature, whether he’s hiking local trails or skiing down a mountain.
Danh Nguyen is currently finishing up his degree in Biochemistry, with a deep passion for molecular biology and research. Whether he is analyzing complex RNA-protein interactions or helping a student solve a tough equation, Danh knows that breaking big problems down into smaller components is the key to success. He brings that exact scientific precision and patient approach to the Mathnasium team, guiding students toward their own "aha!" moments. When he isn't at the center, you can find him working out at the gym, hitting the hiking trails, conquering a video game, or hunting down the absolute best matcha espresso in town.
Emma Bassili is an incoming freshman at CSU Long Beach studying molecular biology & physiology. When she’s not diving into science, she’s usually reading, baking, or designing clothing - constantly mathematizing the world around her, whether she's calculating precise recipe ratios or drafting fabric measurements.
Deeply committed to helping others, she spends her free time volunteering at St. Joseph Providence Hospital, teaching Sunday School, and tutoring SAT students. She brings that exact same passion, energy, and brilliant analytical mind to the Mathnasium team, making her the perfect instructor to help our students crush their goals!
