Hi I’m Krish! I love math because it challenges me to think logically and creatively at the same time. I enjoy how math connects ideas in unexpected ways and shows how reasoning can explain a lot about the world around us. I enjoy teaching at Mathnasium because I love seeing students truly understand math as a whole rather than just memorization. My favorite number is phi (φ) because although it is an irrational number, it represents the golden ratio that is found in nature, art, and more, representing proportion. A fun fact about myself is that I have performed at the Chicago Symphony Center as well as the Ravinia Music Festival. If I’m not doing math, you can find me playing along to songs on my drum set or playing basketball with friends!
Hi, I am Amira Salamah. I love math because it can help us make sense of the world around us. I like instructing math because it allows me to help students make sense of complex concepts and make learning more enjoyable. My favorite number is 0 because it isn’t worth anything, but is still one of the most important numbers in math. A fun fact about me is that my favorite flowers are sunflowers. If I wasn’t teaching or doing math I would probably be baking, because it helps me relax.
Hi, my name is Sam and I go to Palatine High School. I enjoy math as it feels amazing to get a difficult problem right and understand topics conceptually! I really like instructing at Mathnasium because it reminds me of when I help my friends with math, which is always a fun time. My favorite number is 31 because I share that number on my volleyball jersey with my little sister who plays soccer. A fun fact about myself is that I can do a front flip, a back flip, or a gainer off of a diving board! If I'm not teaching math, then you'll find me playing volleyball or one of my two instruments.
Hi, my name is Max Schwartz. I like math because the more you learn, the more you realize that everything is related to math. The further you go in the math curriculum, you realize more things in life that can be represented by mathematics and often in beautiful and elegant ways. I like teaching at Mathnasium because I want to help others see that elegance in a way that is often left out in school. My favorite number is 22 because my favorite player as a kid was Matt Forte. A fun fact about myself is that despite growing up around Palatine, I went to boarding school out in Aurora for high school where I skipped 9th grade. If I'm not teaching/doing math, you would probably find me working on cars. Both in college and at home, I have multiple projects where I am building and modifying cars. At school I participate in the worldwide Formula Student competitions where we build formula-style race cars to race against other universities across the globe. And at home I modify cars and am building an open-wheel race car from scratch in my grandpa's garage.
