It’s so good to see you again! Welcome to your first Mathnasium @Home session!
You just passed through our Waiting Room. It’s a quiet place all to yourself. It’s the spot where you can hang out for a moment before your session starts. Feel free to use that time to grab any paper and pencils you might want to use.
The room you’re in with all the smiling faces? This is the Main Room. You’ll see Mathnasium Instructors and Directors, as well as other students in this room. This is where we make sure your audio and video are working so that you can have the best session possible. Make sure you have your headphones and the latest version of our video-conference platform running on your computer for the smoothest session.
Once everything is good to go, you will hit “Join” and enter the room with your instructor for the day! This is where all the fun happens!! Your Instructor will be with you during your entire session. They are here to teach, work through problems with you, and answer each of your questions along the way.
Do you remember taking the assessment a little while ago? Well, we used it to create a unique learning plan designed specifically for you! The Mathnasium material that you will work on with your instructor will be on the same program as your assessment. Once you click the link it will open in your internet browser. You will have the choice of writing the answers using the pen tool or typing with the text tool. Both you and your instructor will be able to write on the page as you work through the material together.
Don’t be alarmed, but you will see that there are a lot of pages of the Mathnasium material to work through…. and that’s a great thing!! There is a lot to learn about math and we will get to it all. We will always work at your pace so don’t worry about getting through everything today.
After your Instructor wraps up your session for the day, just close your internet browser. All your hard work will save automatically and be waiting for you at your next session.
