Some backstory
Co-Owners
Kouy and Dena met and instantly bonded over their passion for Park City and the desire to root themselves deeper in their community as local business owners. Over months of discussions involving coffee and donuts, they observed that Park City had a wonderful surplus of athletic clubs and other extra curricular activities, but it seemed to be lacking supplemental education programs that benefit its younger population, specifically math related. Given their own experiences with Mathnasium via their own children, a Park City location felt like the perfect fit, and they haven’t looked back. With their shared love of learning, passion for inspiring our youth, and an entrepreneurial spirit, Dena and Kouy are thrilled to bring Mathnasium to Park City and make it the premier location for your kids to find their love for all things math!
Liam
Center Director
Liam is a lifelong Utahn and proud graduate of Park City High School. He earned his degree in Applied Mathematics from the University of Utah in May of 2024, and has been part of our team since May of 2023. Starting as an Instructor, Liam’s enthusiasm for teaching and natural leadership quickly led him through several roles—including Lead Instructor, Assistant Center Director, and Education Director—before stepping into his current position as Center Director.
With a deep passion for mathematics, Liam finds genuine joy in helping students build confidence and mastery in the subject. His approach is rooted in patience, clarity, and a love for problem-solving.
Outside of work, Liam enjoys baking (especially cinnamon rolls), skiing on Utah’s slopes, and backpacking through the mountains. He’s a big fan of polar bears and has a particular fondness for the color purple.
