My Experience as a Guest on KPCW’s Mountain Money

Sep 16, 2024 | Park City

This Summer, I had the incredible opportunity to join KPCW's Mountain Money radio show to talk about my journey as a local business owner here in Park City. It was a privilege to share the story of Mathnasium of Park City—what we do, why we’re passionate about it, and how we've built a thriving local math tutoring center over the past two years.

The hosts were eager to hear about Mathnasium, where we tutor kids in math, making it fun and engaging for them. Our philosophy centers around creating a positive relationship with math, showing students that it doesn’t have to be intimidating but can actually be enjoyable. I explained that we use a customized approach that tailors learning to each child’s needs, making sure they not only grasp concepts but also build confidence. It's this combination of personal attention and creative teaching techniques that has set us apart.

One of the highlights of the conversation was talking about how we started this business just two years ago. I shared how the idea of helping kids excel in math, in a community that I love, became a driving force for me. Fast forward to today, and we’re proud to have won a national award for the impact we've had so far. It’s been a humbling experience, but also incredibly motivating to know that we’re truly making a difference in the lives of our students and their families.

The radio hosts asked insightful questions about what it’s like to run a business in Park City, from managing growth to creating a space where kids feel excited to learn. I loved being able to discuss the unique challenges and rewards of being part of such a supportive community.

Looking back, this radio appearance felt like a milestone for Mathnasium of Park City—a moment to reflect on what we've achieved and to look forward to what's ahead. It was great to connect with listeners and share our passion for helping kids succeed in math while showing them that learning can be fun.

I’m excited to see where the future takes us! Listen to the full segment here.
