Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Benjamin

Instructor

Benjamin is a sophomore at MCC, and is pursuing an associates in engineering. Math is one of his favorite things, and he loves having the ability to share his knowledge with others!

Favorite Number: 3 (because trigonometry is one of my favorite subjects, and triangles are all about 3's)

A Fun Fact about Benjamin: I enjoy folding origami. My favorite projects are the ones that take many different pieces and delicate precision.

Rex Schoolcraft

Regional Director

Rex holds a B.S. in Mathematics and a B.A. in Secondary Education from the University of Wyoming. He began his career as a high school math teacher and was drawn to Mathnasium because its curriculum mirrors the way he thinks about math.

He thrives in a role that impacts thousands of students each day. Outside of work, Rex enjoys reading, playing guitar, and simulation gaming. He’s also a proud dog owner and enjoys spoiling his pet.

Jeff McCabe

President / Math Enthusiast

After earning an Economics degree from James Madison University, Jeff pursued a Master’s in Education from George Mason University. He spent ten years teaching math at the high school and college levels before moving into leadership roles with national restaurant brands.

Jeff returned to his passion for math education by joining Mathnasium. He enjoys helping students thrive through the program’s proven methods. Outside of work, Jeff loves spending time with his wife of 28 years, visiting his three adult children, and caring for their two dogs.

James Temple

Owner

James developed a passion for and proficiency with Mathematics during his middle and high school years. In 2000, James graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mathematics and a love for solving all types of problems. He took those skills into the United States Air Force where he served for 7 years as an aircraft maintenance officer. It was during these years that James had the opportunity to tutor home schooled children and really started to appreciate the frustration that many kids feel towards Mathematics. James left the Air Force in 2007 to go back to the University of Virginia where he received his Master's of Business Administration degree from the Darden School of Business.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.
