Ella began her mathematics educational journey around the age of 10 when her father taught her algebra. She went on to take every math course offered during grade school, double majored in Mathematics and High School Education for her undergraduate studies, and achieved a Masters in Education in Curriculum and Instruction. Her decades of tutoring and teaching experiences have honed Ella’s natural talents for math education and made her an expert in identifying students’ learning styles and adjusting her approach to help them succeed. At Mathnasium, Ella is excited to combine her passion for mathematics with her love of helping students build confidence and understanding!
Ella identifies as a lifelong learner, and continues to take graduate courses in mathematics and statistics. When not pursuing math-related extracurriculars, she can be found reading, watching movies, spending time with her family and friends, or possibly at a Chiefs game!

James developed a passion for and proficiency with Mathematics during his middle and high school years. In 2000, James graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mathematics and a love for solving all types of problems. He took those skills into the United States Air Force where he served for 7 years as an aircraft maintenance officer. It was during these years that James had the opportunity to tutor home schooled children and really started to appreciate the frustration that many kids feel towards Mathematics. James left the Air Force in 2007 to go back to the University of Virginia where he received his Master's of Business Administration degree from the Darden School of Business.
