Ms. Monica

Assistant Center Director
Meet Monica, a computer science major who's passionate about math. Formerly a tutor for 3rd and 4th graders prepping for the STAAR test, she finds joy in those "aha" moments when kids grasp a concept. Outside of work, she immerses herself in the realms of sci-fi and fantasy through her love of reading, while also enjoying the adrenaline rush of horror movies. Despite her busy schedule, she always makes time for her family and cousins, cherishing the moments spent together.

Ms. Kathleena

Lead Instructor
Meet Kathleena, a proud alumna of the University of St. Thomas, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with a focus on Secondary Math Education. Outside of her professional pursuits, Kathleena finds solace in the pages of fiction books, enjoys unwinding with TV shows, cherishes moments with her family, and finds delight in leisurely window shopping. Working at Mathnasium brings Kathleena immense joy as she gets to combine her passion for mathematics with her love for interacting with children. Seeing the excitement on kids' faces as they grasp new mathematical concepts is incredibly fulfilling for her, making every day at Mathnasium a rewarding experience.

Ms. Christine

Meet Christine, currently in her second year at Alvin Community College and paving her way towards nursing school. At Mathnasium, she finds immense joy in teaching and connecting with the children she works with. Outside of work, she indulges in her passions for dancing and reading. Whether it's novels, manga, or webtoons, she enjoys immersing herself in captivating stories during her free time.

Ms. Melinda

Meet Melinda, a graduating senior at Glenda Dawson High School with exciting plans to attend Columbia University in the fall, where she'll be diving into the world of neuroscience and behavior. At Mathnasium, she treasures the opportunity to connect with students, eagerly listening to their stories and learning about their day. Outside of work she plays the flute in both her school's band and the Houston Youth Symphony, showcasing her musical talent and dedication. Additionally, she enjoys the simple pleasure of taking walks and spending quality time with her two cats.

Ms. Shelby

Meet Shelby, she is currently enrolled in the University of Houston-Clear Lake, pursuing a teacher certification for Chemistry, specializing in grades 7 through 12. Shelby finds fulfillment in unraveling the thought processes of students and assisting them in refining their thinking skills. Outside of work, Shelby prioritizes spending quality time with family. She also enjoys unwinding by playing games on their Nintendo Switch, finding joy and relaxation in digital adventures.

Mr. Joel

Meet Joel, a graduating senior at Glenda Dawson High School with big plans to study exercise science at the University of Houston next fall. While he's passionate about math, his true joy comes from spending time with the kids at Mathnasium. Outside of work and academics, he stays active with his hobbies, including working out, playing soccer, and traveling. Standing tall at 6'2", he particularly loves hitting the soccer field during his free time and cherishes moments spent with friends.

Ms. Anagha

Meet Anagha, an incoming freshman at the University of Texas Austin, embarking on her journey to study Biomedical Engineering. At Mathnasium, she cherishes the opportunity to work with children, finding fulfillment in helping them navigate their mathematical endeavors and creating lasting memories with each unique personality she encounters. Outside of work, Anagha fills her free time with various activities. She's an avid dancer, painter, and soccer player, finding joy in both physical and creative outlets. Additionally, she delights in baking tasty treats and diving into the pages of a good book.

Mr. Max

Meet Max, freshly graduated from Glenda Dawson High School and gearing up for his freshman year at LSU. At Mathnasium, he finds fulfillment in sharing knowledge and teaching others something new. Outside of work and academics, Max is passionate about fitness and music. With aspirations to become a lawyer, he's driven and determined to pursue his goals.
