Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Melissa

Instructor
Melissa is currently in her first year at Auburn University studying Integrative Biology to prepare for her future in Veterinary Medicine. She started as a Mathnasium student, filling in a couple of missing pieces and supporting her need for a little bit of homework help. Despite the frustration that came with learning under new Covid restrictions, she moved through her material quickly and before we knew it, she no longer needed our support and was ready to start teaching others. We are excited to add her enthusiasm for math to our team!

Teanna

Lead Instructor
Teanna is currently in her first year of college at PSC, going for her Associate's degree. She plans on majoring in Psychology and minoring in Photography. She loves discovering new, creative ways to do things and helping others understand things about themselves and the world, especially in Math! Having joined Mathnasium during her junior year of high school, she is happy to still be a part of the team.

Jonathan

Instructor
Jonathan received an associate degree from Pensacola State College and is planning to major in Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Florida. He has always enjoyed learning about math and applying it to his various science projects. He strives to make math more fun and less tedious for students. Outside of school, Jonathan spends his time gardening, reading, spending time with family, and working on projects that he finds interesting.

Scott

Lead Instructor
Scott retired from the US Navy after 20 years of flying the P-3C Orion. After that, he worked for another 15 years as an Operations Research Systems Analyst before retiring as a federal employee at NORAD and USNORTHCOM. Scott has degrees in Electrical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Systems Engineering, as well as a Masters of Business Administration. He has a passion for teaching and tutoring people of all ages. He and his wife, Shari, moved to Pensacola in September 2022 to be closer to their kids. In his spare time, he likes to work on home projects and spend time outdoors.

Tyler

Instructor
Tyler is currently enrolled at JM Tate High School in Cantonment Florida. He plans to go to college at the University of Florida after graduation and major in Chemical Engineering. One of the things Tyler loves about math is that there is always a way to solve a problem; sometimes, there's multiple ways. Some of his favorite hobbies include playing video games, watching tv shows and movies, talking with friends, and simply enjoying the nice sunshine! Tyler is glad and excited to be apart of the amazing team here at Mathnasium!

Skylar

Instructor
Skylar is currently a freshman at Duke University and is majoring in Neuroscience. She intends to pursue a career in medicine and potentially neurobiotics in the future. Skylar struggled with math as a child, but now it is one of her favorite (and best!) subjects. Skylar enjoys working at Mathnasium because she gets to work with children and help others with math! Outside of work and school, Skylar enjoys participating in performance and technical theatre, listening to music, reading, and watching sitcoms. She also enjoys spending time with her parents, her dog, and her friends!

Lily-ana

Lead Instructor

Spencer

Instructor
Spencer is a dedicated student at the University of West Florida, pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering with a minor in electrical engineering. He has a strong passion for both automotive design and military vehicles and spends much of his free time researching and studying these fields. An avid 3D printing enthusiast, he enjoys exploring how this technology can be applied in engineering and plans to bring his expertise to the automotive industry after graduation, combining his skills in mechanical and electrical engineering to contribute to innovative vehicle designs.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
