Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Melissa

Instructor

Melissa is a first-year student at Auburn University, majoring in Integrative Biology with plans to pursue a career in Veterinary Medicine. Her journey with Mathnasium began as a student, where she filled in learning gaps and got support with homework. Despite the challenges of remote learning during the COVID era, she advanced quickly and soon found herself ready to help others.

Now as an instructor, Melissa brings the same curiosity and determination that helped her succeed. She enjoys connecting with students and encouraging their growth and confidence in math.

Teanna

Lead Instructor

Teanna is in her first year of college at Pensacola State College, pursuing an Associate’s degree with plans to major in Psychology and minor in Photography. She joined Mathnasium as a high school junior and is excited to still be part of the team today.

Teanna loves helping students discover creative ways to understand math and encourages them to see learning as a way to explore both themselves and the world. Her passion for teaching and problem-solving makes her a valued member of the Mathnasium community.

Jonathan

Instructor

Jonathan holds an Associate degree from Pensacola State College and plans to major in Mechanical Engineering at the University of West Florida. His passion for math and science fuels his enthusiasm for learning and for helping students discover how math applies to the real world.

He enjoys making math feel less tedious and more enjoyable for every student. Outside of work and school, Jonathan spends his time gardening, reading, working on projects, and spending time with his family.

Scott

Lead Instructor

Scott is a retired U.S. Navy pilot with 20 years of service flying the P-3C Orion. After his military career, he worked for 15 years as an Operations Research Systems Analyst for NORAD and USNORTHCOM. He holds degrees in Electrical, Aeronautical, and Systems Engineering, as well as an MBA.

Scott brings a wealth of experience and a passion for teaching to Mathnasium. He enjoys tutoring students of all ages and recently moved to Pensacola to be closer to family. In his spare time, he enjoys home improvement projects and exploring the outdoors.

Tyler

Instructor

Tyler is currently a student at JM Tate High School in Cantonment, Florida. He plans to attend the University of Florida to major in Chemical Engineering. Tyler enjoys how math always provides a way to solve problems and often offers more than one approach.

He finds joy in helping others build their problem-solving skills and grow more confident in math. When he's not studying or working, Tyler enjoys playing video games, watching TV, chatting with friends, and soaking up the Florida sunshine.

Skylar

Instructor
Skylar is currently a freshman at Duke University and is majoring in Neuroscience. She intends to pursue a career in medicine and potentially neurobiotics in the future. Skylar struggled with math as a child, but now it is one of her favorite (and best!) subjects. Skylar enjoys working at Mathnasium because she gets to work with children and help others with math! Outside of work and school, Skylar enjoys participating in performance and technical theatre, listening to music, reading, and watching sitcoms. She also enjoys spending time with her parents, her dog, and her friends!
