As both a Mathnasium parent and a passionate advocate for education, I’ve seen firsthand how mastering math can transform a child’s confidence—not just in math, but across all areas of learning. Mathnasium’s greatest strength lies in The Mathnasium Method™—a proven, time-tested & customized approach that builds number sense, deepens understanding, and truly makes math make sense.
Seeing how this method strengthened my own child’s skills and confidence inspired me to believe deeply in the brand and invest in this vision. I truly believe that every child deserves the opportunity to feel confident and capable in math.
With a background in Computer Science and years of experience in the technology industry, I understand how essential math and problem-solving skills are in today’s world. Throughout my career, I’ve remained dedicated to supporting education, mentoring young learners, and helping to create opportunities that shape bright futures.
At Mathnasium of Plainfield, our mission is simple: to help every child build confidence in math, strengthen their skills, and develop a genuine love for learning. We meet each student where they are—whether they need to catch up, keep up, or get ahead—and create personalized learning plans that lead to lasting success.
I’m excited to bring Mathnasium to the community we call home and share a resource that has been so impactful for my own family.
Usman is currently pursuing at Joliet Junior College. He built confidence in his own math skills and is now passionate about helping students do the same via his instruction that emphasizes understanding rather than memorization. He enjoys breaking down complex concepts into clear, simple steps and helping students gain confidence by strengthening their foundational skills. Usman hopes to help students see beyond "how" to solve problems and understand the "why". His goal is to help students see math as logical, approachable, and achievable, making it feel less intimidating for every student he works with.
Aidan is an active member of Neuqua Valley’s speech and volleyball teams and enjoys drawing, reading, and playing video games with friends. He believes that with positive encouragement and clear, simple explanations, every student can learn to appreciate math. At Mathnasium, his goal is to help students achieve true mastery through conceptual understanding and real-world application—focusing on the “why,” not just the “how.”
Aleeza is a student at Benedictine University pursuing a degree in Biology. Before joining the Mathnasium team, she was involved in math competitions such as the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics competition (ICTM) and participated in many tutoring opportunities at her school. Outside of her studies, she enjoys drawing, crocheting, and rollerblading outside. At Mathnasium, her goal is to ensure students thoroughly understand a concept in a way that is the most comfortable to them. She believes every student has their own learning style and tailoring to those specific styles ensures the most effective and enjoyable experience.
Lakhi is a student at WVHS with a passion for math and a dream of pursuing a career in engineering. She always enjoyed the challenge of solving problems and finding creative ways to make math easier and more enjoyable. She loves working with students of all ages and helping them discover that math can be fun! Whether we’re tackling a challenging algebra problem, figuring out “x,” or mastering the basics, she enjoys breaking concepts down into simple steps and celebrating those “aha!” moments with her students. Lakhi enjoys spending quality time with her friends and family. She believes in helping every student to become more confident and capable mathematician!
Rukaiya is a senior at WVHS who enjoys combining her interests in STEM, leadership, and education. She is actively involved in BPA, VEX Robotics, the Science Honor Society, and the Student Advisory Board. Rukaiya enjoys most about teaching is discovering the approach that works best for each student. She understands that there is no single way to learn math, and she enjoys finding different ways to explain a concept until it clicks. At Mathnasium, Rukaiya strives to create a supportive learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, tackling challenges, and learning from mistakes. Her goal is not only to help students solve problems, but to help them develop a deeper understanding of math and become confident, independent learners.
