Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Adriana

Instructor

Adriana has a unique perspective that allows her to relate to her students. She has been part of the Mathnasium family since 3rd grade. Frustrated with multiplication, she started attending Mathnasium two to three times a week. As her confidence grew, her love for math bloomed. Throughout high school, Adriana has consistently been a top student, earning a 5 on the AP Calculus exam and scoring in the top 1% test takers on the math portion of the SAT. She hopes to pursue a career in international diplomacy with a focus on data analysis. Outside of the Center, Adriana is a competitive rower and volunteers her time at beach cleanups and animal rescues.

Helena

Instructor

Helena is a second year at San Diego State University, majoring in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Mathematics. She has been tutoring in math since high school. Outside of Mathnasium Helena enjoys riding horses and cooking for her friends. She hopes to become a future elementary educator and takes pride in helping students throughout their academic journey. She loves to watch students' confidence grow as they begin to understand challenging topics. Helena hopes to make an impact by encouraging students that they can do anything they put their minds to!

Jacklyn

Instructor

Jacklyn is in her final year at Point Loma Nazarene University, double majoring in Information Systems and Finance. She has been tutoring math since high school. She loves the rewarding feeling of helping students understand challenging concepts and seeing their confidence grow. Jacklyn is from Merced, California and fell in love with the sunshine here in San Diego. If she could be doing anything, it would be wakeboarding, snowboarding, hiking, or a new outdoor adventure. Jacklyns favorite color is yellow, and strives to bring that same bright energy to her students during sessions.

Skyler

Instructor

Skyler is in her third year of college at the University of San Diego, majoring in Behavioral Neuroscience. She plans on continuing her education to go to Physical Therapy school. She is also a division 1 swimmer for the University of San Diego. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, running, swimming in the ocean, and exploring new places. She has always been passionate about STEM skills, and loves to help others learn. Skyler wants to create the most supportive environment possible at Mathnasium for everyone to learn and grow!

Emmie

Instructor

Emmie is a student favorite. She is able to engage students by thoughtfully explaining concepts in a clear manner and with a positive attitude. Students who have previously been afraid of math find her explanations approachable. Likewise, students who love math find her enthusiasm contagious. In her spare time, Emmie likes to play flag football, is learning to scuba dive and loves spending time with her dogs, Phoebe and Basil.

He applied these skills working at several NGOs focused on supporting Afghan refugees. In San Diego, he continued his education in the study of computer science. Not only does Fazal love supporting students in math, but he enjoys the friendly staff and students at Mathnasium of Point Loma.

Our Mathnasium Mission

Teach children math so they understand it, master it, and love it. Math can change their lives, and they can change the world.

What I love about Mathnasium is the ability to teach problem-solving skills and make math make sense, while also making a student smile.
