Suneet Jain

Owner

Suneet's entire adult life has revolved around being a math educator, and helping others get better at math. He started his journey as an educator over 12 years ago as a member of the Math department at his college, where he worked with fellow students to help them get through their college Math courses. Since then he has earned a Master's degree in Math Education from Columbia University.  Suneet has been a high school Math teacher at schools in New York City and Long Island, NY where he taught courses ranging from Algebra I to Calculus. He has run Mathnasium ranked top 10 performing centers nationwide, and currently owns Mathnasium centers in Stamford and Greenwich, CT. He's excited to bring top quality Math education to the Port Washington community, and to get kids pumped about Math!

Alan Flyer

Executive Advisor/Owner
Alan Flyer is a Schreiber High School graduate who grew up in Port Washington. He attended Cornell University, receiving a B.A. in Government. After spending four years on Capitol Hill as a technology consultant for the United States Senate in Washington DC, he received his M.B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Alan has been “making math make sense” to kids using the Mathnasium method of instruction since 2011 at Mathnasium of Roslyn and is excited to bring Mathnasium to his hometown of Port Washington.

Andres A.

Assistant Center Director

Andres holds a BS in Business with a focus on Marketing and Statistics. Throughout high school and college he has found himself taking on mentorship and educational responsibilities. It was through those experiences where he gained a love and appreciation for instruction and education. At Mathnasium he hopes to instill and inspire a lifelong love for learning that goes beyond the scope of mathematics.

Andrew K.

Lead Instructor

Andrew has an MS in Geology and MS Environmental Sustainability. He has experience teaching at the college level as a Teaching Assistant while attending graduate school and as an Adjunct Lecturer for one year at the City College of New York. Since college, he has maintained an interest in math as a hobby while putting it to practical use as a scientist.

Priya M.

Instructor

Priya has an M.S. in Organic Chemistry and Bachelors in Education. She has nine years of teaching experience in Math and Science. Her experience in teaching and love for math gives her the confidence to build trust with her students. Her goal is to help her students understand math concepts so they can develop an interest in learning math. She feels fortunate to be part of the Mathnasium team, where she can help students learn math in a better way and succeed in their educational journey.

Leonard S.

Instructor

Len holds a master's degree in Physics, and has performed advanced work in Theoretical Astrophysics. He also worked for many years as a software developer and business analyst for a number of investment banks in New York. In the midst of this work, Len has tutored college and high school students in Math and Physics and is excited to work with younger students at Mathnasium. In his career, using math and thinking mathematically has been central to his work and life, and he enjoys sharing that enthusiasm with everyone he teaches.

Giancarlo M.

Instructor

Giancarlo grew up in New York City and is currently studying Physics at Stony Brook University. He has always been fascinated by exact sciences, pondering how numbers and abstract ideas shape the world around us and strongly believes in making knowledge accessible to everyone. Math has always been one of his favorite subjects at school and he is excited to share his interest with students at Mathnasium.

Mashiyat J.

Instructor

Mashiyat is a Computer Science student at the City College of New York (CCNY). She has been academically oriented throughout her life. The world of science and innovation fascinates her, and math plays a crucial role in that. To Mashiyat, math is akin to an art form – just as colors on a painting can create an end product unpredictable to the eyes witnessing the process, numbers in a system can lead to wonders, making for a captivating journey.

Hamed M.

Instructor

Hamed is a Computer Science major at Nassau Community College. Math is central to Hamed's academic journey in Computer Science and to his personal development. Despite initial struggles, he's come to value math's intricate logic and pivotal role in computing. His early challenges with math motivated him to work tirelessly to master its complexities. Now, as an instructor, he aims to inspire students with the same determination and appreciation for math's transformative impact on computer science and innovation.

Charles S.

Instructor

Charles was educated at Stony Brook University in Computer Science.  He came to Mathnasium of Port Washington with over ten years of prior experience working for Mathnasium.  His professional background also includes multiple facets in the aquarium/pet industry, including retail management, and commercial display.  He likes gardening, enjoying nature, bird watching, and maintaining his personal aquariums.  He’s a self-proclaimed “science nerd,” with a pet interest in Evolution.  Charles currently aspires to improve his piano skills, learn a third language, and write a memoir.

Evan O.

Instructor

Evan began working with Mathnasium in early 2024. He has a degree in Economics and has spent time working professionally in Data Science. Some of his hobbies include music and hockey. He enjoys teaching students to have fun while learning at Mathnasium.

Russell W.

Instructor

Russell holds a BS in Mathematics from Stony Brook University and has tutored mathematics for many years. He has experience teaching various topics, from foundational elementary math to advanced calculus. He merges the analytical approach with teaching to bring concepts into appealing, practical perspectives.  Russell strongly believes in helping students build up their confidence in math and views math as an important and rewarding skill set.
