Matthew Knapp has lived in Sacramento for over 15 years and brings a love for both numbers and the outdoors to his role as Center Director. He earned a BA in Geography from CSU Sacramento and an AS in Mathematics from Woodland Community College, where he also managed tutoring programs and helped students build math confidence.
Matthew is passionate about making math relatable and rewarding for all students. When he’s not helping students learn and grow, you’ll find him on the basketball court or snowboarding in the mountains.
Morganna Kato is a freshman at American River College who enjoys combining her love for learning with her passion for helping others. Her hobbies include playing instruments, watching shows, gaming, and learning new languages.
At Mathnasium, Morganna looks forward to helping students improve their math skills and develop new levels of understanding. She brings patience, energy, and encouragement to every session.
Ameya Gupta is a student at Jesuit High School in Folsom and an accomplished scholar who has completed AP courses in Calculus and Computer Science. He is a member of a competitive robotics team and enjoys chess and problem-solving activities.
Ameya is excited to share his love for math with others and help students tackle tough concepts. His goal is to attend Caltech and pursue a career in STEM where he can continue building and innovating.
Fredrick Maduafokwa is an Applied Mathematics major at the University of California, Davis. With two years of tutoring experience at Skyline Community College, he enjoys guiding students through challenging problems and making math more approachable.
Fredrick’s hobbies include playing chess, watching soccer, and staying active through workouts. He values the impact of one-on-one instruction and is committed to helping students reach their full potential at Mathnasium.
Brandon Montez holds a BS in Data Theory from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he built a strong foundation in mathematics and analytical thinking. He has applied that expertise professionally, contributing to projects in machine learning and AI, and brings that same rigorous, problem-solving mindset into every tutoring session.
Brandon is committed to meeting students where they are and helping them build the kind of mathematical confidence that carries them forward. He believes that with the right guidance, math can feel approachable, engaging, and genuinely useful.
