September 2019, San Diego CA - Mathnasiums of San Diego is an in part sponsor of 2019 Steam Maker Fest this year. It is a festival organized by Steam Maker Organization which aims to promote STEAM education. It is also an outlet for schools to showcase programs and projects related to STEAM.
Mathnasium will be hosting its First Math Olympiad on the said event too. A Math Challenge comprised of number sense, logic and critical thinking. Schools in the community (charter, private and public) are all welcome to form a team with a mix of 3rd through 5th grade students.
This year's Steam Maker Festival will be on Saturday, December 7th from 10AM to 3PM at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
Two teams of five will compete at a time. This fast-paced math challenge will utilize questions that challenge critical thinking, spatial reasoning, logic, and number sense above all else. Up to 32 teams will be able to compete for amazing prizes:
1st place: $1,000 to further STEAM education at the school of their choice
2nd place: $500 to further STEAM education at the school of their choice
