Summer Fun at the Center
Let Mathnasium transform your child through a balance of constructive learning and fun!
Our goal for the summer:
We aim to combat the “summer slide" by reinforcing fundamental skills, enhancing comprehension, and introducing next year's concepts. By fostering a fun, encouraging, and competitive environment, we boost students' knowledge and confidence, motivating them to advance and become self-driven. Our goal is to increase student productivity and inspire them to set and achieve their goals, ensuring they are well-prepared to excel when the new school year begins.
Summer Fun Calendar:
Each day this summer we host exciting events designed to motivate students to exceed their page goals and enhance their conceptual understanding. Students have enjoyed various themes such as earning triple points for mastery checks, spinning a wheel to determine bonus points for each mastery check and gaining extra points for completing the problem of the week. The problem of the week is a grade level specific math worksheet that offers an additional challenge for students to tackle at the end of their session to earn extra points.
Our progress with the end of summer prize:
Students are working hard to achieve their personal goals while also collaborating to reach a collective goal of 1,500 Mastery Checks. If this group objective is met, we will celebrate with a game bus party on August 16th. We have completed 1,300 mastery checks and need 200 more to reach our goal!
Information about the game bus:
If our goal of 1500 mastery checks are met we will have a game truck visit at the end of the summer! This game bus is equipped with a variety of gaming systems including PS5, Xbox Series X and Nintendo Switch. This will be an unforgettable experience for our students, and the game truck includes full-sized electronic drums for Rock Band, seat rumblers for added immersion and surround sound systems for each of the seven high-definition TVs. Students will enjoy engaging games like Mario Brothers, Mario Kart, Smash Bros and various Rock Band racing games. For more details, visit socalgamez.com.
In addition to these fun summer events we also have game hour, which takes place every Friday from 5:30 to 6:30 PM. This is a time for students to practice their reasoning skills, enjoy a competitive yet fun and welcoming environment, and get to know the instructors better.
We hope you are having a wonderful summer and we look forward to continuing this journey with your children and helping them reach new heights in their math proficiency!
