Alex Leon

Center Director
My name is Alex, and I am the Center Director here at Mathnasium of Redondo Beach. I graduated from the University of California Davis, where I studied Mathematics. Over the years and through my academic journey, I have witnessed students struggling with math and losing their engagement with the subject. I decided to become an Instructor at Mathnasium so that I could motivate students in math and reverse this trend. I have been part of the Mathnasium family for six years now, where I have been instructing and training other Instructors in several Mathnasium centers. As the Center Director, my goal is to improve how students perceive math by making it easier to understand and exciting. My goal is to create a safe learning environment where students not only improve their skills but also experience math as an inspiring journey that they can enjoy.

Ryan

Lead Instructor
Ryan has lived in Redondo Beach all his life and graduated from South High School. He is currently a student at El Camino College, majoring in Mechanical Engineering, and plans to transfer to UC Berkeley after two years. He loves teaching students at all levels of math as it helps him have a better understanding of specific concepts and improves his ability to retain information. In his free time he loves to play soccer, basketball, video games, and the piano.

Evelyn

Lead Instructor
Evelyn’s current endeavor is acquiring a bachelor’s degree in physics. The mathematical component of Physics is what drew her into the field. Here, she is able to foster her passion for math even more. She’s had many instructors over the course of her educational journey, so she always makes a conscious effort to adopt the qualities of those who displayed excellence in teaching. After all, it’s a great responsibility to take part in shaping the young minds of our future generations!

Alex

Instructor
Alex is currently a sophomore at El Camino studying mechanical engineering. He is planning on transferring to a university in the fall of '24. He has been working at Mathnasium for over two years and has loved helping students get better at math. In his free time, he likes to run and watch soccer games.

Aditya

Instructor
Aditya lives in Redondo Beach and is an incoming senior at Redondo Union High School. He is enrolled in AP Calculus BC at school and enjoys playing soccer, tennis, and video games in his free time. He also enjoys mathematics as well as tutoring others in the subject. He is planning to major in economics with a minor in mathematics.

Michael

Instructor
Michael has been with Mathnasium since 2017, but is new to the Redondo Beach center, having started in March of 2024. He is looking forward to fostering great relationships with his students, their parents and his coworkers. When Michael isn’t teaching, he can usually be found performing in community theatre productions around the South Bay. Michael also enjoys playing poker, chess, puzzle games, and anything else that keeps his mind sharp.

Ritu

Instructor
Ritu is a current high school senior. Throughout high school, she has taken many advanced math courses from her school and local community colleges, such as AP Calculus BC and Multi-Variable Calculus. She has always been passionate about math and enjoys teaching and guiding students to find fun in doing math and thoroughly understand concepts!
