Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Chris Gray

Assistant Center Director

Chris holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Hawai'i at Manoa and a Master’s from George Mason University. He’s been tutoring since 2006 and has taught at the college level for several years.

At Mathnasium, Chris enjoys helping students strengthen their math fundamentals in a personalized way. He’spassionate about building understanding and confidence through clear, tailored instruction. When not teaching, Chris enjoys reading fantasy and mythology from around the world.

Anna Moon

Area Manager

Anna graduated from Marymount University with a degree in Math and a minor in Education. Since joining Mathnasium, she has grown from instructor to Area Manager for the Centreville, Reston, and Tysons locations.

Anna’s enthusiasm for teaching and problem-solving shines in every role she’s held. She’s passionate about creating engaging math environments for students and instructors alike. Outside of work, she enjoys time with her dog Ranger, playing soccer, and going line dancing.

Ben Bramsen

Senior Regional Director

Ben’s path to education began at the Indianapolis Zoo, where volunteering with marine animals sparked his love for teaching. He joined Mathnasium to make a daily impact and support students in their math journey.

Ben enjoys the rewarding nature of helping students grow through consistent, hands-on learning. Outside of work, he explores the outdoors, plays guitar (by his own admission—poorly), and seeks out new experiences.

Jeff McCabe

President

Jeff holds an Economics degree from James Madison University and a Master’s in Education from George Mason University. He spent 10 years teaching math at the high school and college levels before transitioning into leadership roles.

Now, he combines his teaching background with operations experience to support Mathnasium’s mission. Jeff is passionate about empowering students through math. When not working, he enjoys time with his wife of 28 years, their two dogs, and visits with their three adult children.

James Temple

CEO

James developed a passion for and proficiency with Mathematics during his middle and high school years. In 2000, James graduated from the University of Virginia with a degree in Mathematics and a love for solving all types of problems. He took those skills into the United States Air Force where he served for 7 years as an aircraft maintenance officer. It was during these years that James had the opportunity to tutor home schooled children and really started to appreciate the frustration that many kids feel towards Mathematics. James left the Air Force in 2007 to go back to the University of Virginia where he received his Master's of Business Administration degree from the Darden School of Business

Our Mathnasium Mission
