Make Mathnasium part of your summer plans

So, as school lets out for the Summer, should I give my kids a break?

This is the #1 question parents ask every spring.

The answer is:  That depends...

One of the benefits of summer tutoring is that it allows for gaps in the math education of a student to be filled and to get ready for the next school year. There is no pressure from homework or upcoming quizzes. Also students learn in different ways and oftentimes the lack of one-on-one approach can lead to the students falling behind. Here at Mathnasium we create individualized learning plans based on initial assessment and our tutors spend one-on-one with students in a group environment. We boost confidence and promote the development of critical thinking skills. With confidence comes passion, and with passion comes growth.

Summer-specific math programs: Algebra and Geometry Readiness for those entering the course in fall; jumpstart 4th or 6th grade with focus on fractions, operations with integers, solving of linear equations; SAT prep for high school students that intend to take on the test in fall.

While many kids are looking to catch up over the summer, there are also those advanced students who want to push forward and get ahead.  With over 95% of the highest paying jobs straight out of college being in STEM fields, competition for college entry and scholarships is more competitive than it has ever been.  STEM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math.  While these four fields are very different, they all derive their basic foundations from Math.

Did you know:

  • One in three parents are unable to help their teens with high school math
  • This year students are believed to be up to a year behind in math
  • Every school year, the first grading period is about re-learning old material from the previous school year to make up for some of the summer math loss
  • It can take up to 2 months for a student from day 1 of the new school year to be able to catch up
