Measures we are taking in our center based on recent news of Public Schools Closures

Mar 13, 2020 | Richmond West

As the news of Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to develop, we want to continue keeping you updated on all news Mathnasium.

At Mathnasium our focus is our students and parents who rely on us every day. To this we want to make sure that our families continue to rely on their local Mathnasium Learning Center as a  clean and reliable place where they can continue their learning, whether in center or online.

We have rolled out Mathnasium@Home, our online tutoring solution as an option to parents.

We have made the decision to stay open in the event of public school closures.

With today's news that the local public schools will be closing next week, the following are the measures that we will have in place next week:

  • Check-in.  We will check students in ourselves, instead of each student themselves.
  • Spacing. We will sit students in every other seat to keep them further from one another.
  • Waiting area. In the interest of reducing the number of extra people in the centers, we are making sure that no one can sit in the waiting areas. I.e. guardians are asked to drop-off and pick-up only.
  • Extended Hours if necessary.  Extending our hours to spread students out over time if instructor schedules allow.
  • Hand Washing.
    • Every student washes hands or sanitizes their hands when they enter; and when they leave.
    • Instructors wash hands upon arrival and every hour.
  • Pencils. Students are given a pencil to keep in their binder.
  • Sanitizing.
    • We are frequently disinfecting high-touch surfaces, such as tables, chairs, door handles, light switches, etc.
    • We will make disinfecting wipes available to all.
    • Games / Manipulatives.  During this period, we will not be using games or manipulatives.

Mathnasium is a special company made up of special and compassionate people.  This is a time for us to be kind to one another and to be there for our families.

Be safe, and thank you for being a part of the Mathnasium family.
