Q1: What are some ways your center is helping students prepare for the school year - whether it’s refreshing core skills, boosting confidence, or tackling new grade-level content?
A: Whether it’s refreshing core skills, boosting math confidence, or tackling new grade-level content, our team is helping students start strong. We’ve been:
🔎 Reviewing gaps from the summer (especially for students who weren’t in regularly)
📘 Talking through upcoming math classes and giving work that matches what they’ll see in school
💡 Strengthening core skills so they feel confident and ready for increased challenges
Most importantly, we’re helping students see that math doesn’t have to be stressful—it can be fun! With each problem solved, they’re building confidence, sharpening skills, and gearing up to multiply their success this year. 🚀
Q2: Can you share a quick success story about a student who feels more ready for school after coming to your center?
A: We are beyond proud of one of our amazing students who has shown just how powerful dedication and persistence can be!
She came to Mathnasium just one year ago, after years of struggling to keep up—she had even been held back in 1st grade. But in that short time, her transformation has been incredible. Last year in 6th grade, her FAST score jumped from a 1 to a 3, showing just how far she’d come.
This summer, she was given the chance to attend school for 5 weeks to move up to 8th grade and get back on track. Not only did she pass easily, but she did it with confidence! Her parent credits the incredible instructors here at Mathnasium for helping her feel ready to take on pre-algebra in 8th grade. 💪✨
Her dedication and persistence have paid off. Her confidence has soared, and she’s heading into the new school year with a weight lifted and a smile on her face. We couldn’t be prouder of her journey—and we can’t wait to see all the amazing things she’ll accomplish next! 🚀📚
Q3: What would you tell parents who are worried their child isn’t ready for math this school year?
A: At Mathnasium, we meet students exactly where they are. The first step is giving your child an assessment that shows their current level of math knowledge. From there, we build a customized learning plan that does two important things:
✅ Reiterates and strengthens core skills so they feel confident.
✅ Fills in any gaps that could hold them back this school year.
If your student already has a solid foundation and is eager for more, we can give them a head start by introducing upcoming concepts before they even see them in class. That way, they walk into school ready to tackle new material with ease.
We also want parents to know: if your child is struggling or showing signs of boredom in class because math feels “too easy,” don’t delay. Both situations can hurt a child’s confidence but the right support makes all the difference.
💡 At Mathnasium, we love what we do and kids love it too. Watching students go from anxious to confident, or from bored to challenged and excited, is what makes our work so rewarding.
