Becky McDaniels

Mathnasium of Brandon is owned and operated by long time Brandon resident Becky McDaniels. Becky earned her Bachelor's Degree with honors from Kappa Delta Pi in Elementary Education at the University of Tampa, in 1997. She has since taught elementary school for 12 years, including private, public, and charter. Becky has had great success with her students, including having the top scores in the county on the math FCAT 2 years in a row. Becky was honored to accept the position of Math Coach/Curriculum Specialist for the Hillsborough and Pinellas County Charter Schools (4 Elementary Schools, and 4 Middle Schools)which allowed her to grow and learn even more. Becky has a love for education, and helping children feel successful and achieve their goals. Becky has lived in Brandon her entire life, and stays involved with her community through the local Valrico Fishhawk Chamber of Commerce, programs like Impact for teens and families and is very involved in the local schools. She has many volunteer hours at her children's schools, volunteered in her local church, loves to work with the teenagers in her community, and enjoys attending local sporting and music events at her neighborhood schools. Becky's husband Lance has been a coach for SBLL, and for local travel ball teams. His love for coaching and providing a fun and wholesome atmosphere for children to learn the love of a sport along with the importance of teamwork combined with Becky's passion for education makes them a great team. Building character and confidence in young people is very important to both of them. Becky struggled with math as a young girl, so helping students become more confident and successful is her passion. She wants students to understand that math is not about learning to be ready for the next math class - it's about learning to think! Building confidence and helping students find success is her passion.
