Our staff is built to teach each student individually, to develop the skills they need to thrive in mathematics, and to foster a love of learning.

Baylor

Center Director

Baylor is the Center Director at Mathnasium of Brandon and a graduate of the University of South Florida with a degree in Mathematics. He’s been part of the Mathnasium family for over a decade, growing from instructor to leadership roles thanks to his dedication and sense of humor.

He enjoys tabletop games, sharing photos of his two dogs, and—according to him—telling the world’s best math jokes. His favorite number is 24 for its many factors, and he believes Mathnasium is a place where confidence and curiosity in math can thrive.

Chris

Instructor

Chris brings a lifetime of teaching experience to Mathnasium, having taught high school math for over 50 years. She holds a degree in Math Education from Bob Jones University and taught everything from Pre-Algebra to AP Calculus while moving across the globe as a Navy wife.

After retiring, she found a second home at Mathnasium, where she continues to share her love of math with students. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, crocheting, exploring lighthouses, and traveling with her family.

Lisa

Lead Instructor

Lisa served 25 years in the United States Air Force before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Now, as a Lead Instructor at Mathnasium, she’s passionate about giving back and helping students grow their confidence in math.

A lifelong math enthusiast, Lisa was active in her high school Math Club and later took advanced college-level math courses. Outside of Mathnasium, she loves spending time with her kids and building Lego creations. Her favorite number is 25 (her lucky number) and she believes learning math should always be fun and empowering.

Molly

Instructor

Molly is a standout student at Riverview High School with a strong academic record and a passion for math. She has excelled in advanced courses like Algebra 2 Honors and Pre-Calculus Honors and plans to continue with AP Calculus and AP Statistics.

In addition to her math talent, Molly is the Vice President of Student Government and a member of multiple honor societies and the Varsity Soccer team. She enjoys roller coasters, swimming, and time with loved ones. At Mathnasium, she’s excited to help others enjoy math as much as she does.

Maddie

Lead Instructor
Maddie is a senior at Newsome High School with excellent performance academically, specifically in math subjects. She has taken many higher math courses such as AP Calculus, and excels in her full courseload of AP classes. She is part of National Honors Society, Best Buddies, and 1Voice club at her school. She serves her community through all of these service clubs. In her free time, she plays the piano, which she is classically trained in, as well as the ukulele and the guitar. Maddie plans to study Mathematics with a minor in Astronomy when she goes to university in 2025. At Mathnasium, Maddie is dedicated to helping students to excel in math subjects and see that math doesn't have to be so scary. :)

Sandy

Instructor
Sandy graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Following a long and fulfilling career in technology, Sandy sought a way to stay mentally engaged and make a positive impact on others. Mathnasium, which had greatly benefited her own children, proved to be the perfect fit. Sandy fondly recalls the satisfaction and thrill of solving complex math problems in high school and aims to inspire that same excitement in others. Recently, Sandy relocated from Georgia and, in her spare time, enjoys volunteering to help with cat adoption efforts.

Jocelyn

Instructor

Jocelyn is a graduate of Lennard High school. She excels academically and her favorite subject is math.

She has completed courses including Algebra, Geometry, AP Calculus AB and BC, and all their prerequisites. She has also taken college level math classes at Hillsborough Community College. She will be attending Florida State University to study Chemistry.

Outside of school and work she volunteers often and likes to help her community. In her free time she likes to write and create artwork. She enjoys working with kids and sharing her love of math with them.

Olivia

Instructor
Olivia is a college freshman currently attending Hillsborough Community College, but plans to transfer to the University of South Florida in the next couple of years. In her spare time, she participates in community theatre, as she loves performing, and in high school she was an active member of her drama troupe’s chapter of the International Thespian Society. She absolutely loves math, and at Mathnasium, she hopes that she will be able to help other kids appreciate and enjoy it as well!
