Q1: ๐Ÿ’ก What is the most rewarding part of working with Mathnasium students?

A:
The most rewarding part of working with Mathnasium students is seeing them start to believe in themselves. It is easy for them to doubt themselves, so seeing that confidence develop is an amazing feeling!

Q2: ๐Ÿš€ What is one math tip or trick you often share with students?

A:
The math tip that I love showing to students is the cake method for finding the LCM and GCF. Students are always surprised at how easy it is. Plus, who doesn't love cake?

Q3: ๐ŸŽ“ What qualities do you see in students who make the most progress at Mathnasium?

A:
The students who make the most progress at Mathnasium have a positive attitude and strong work ethic! Students who want to be here and put forth good effort during their sessions always show great improvement.

Q4: ๐Ÿ”ฅ If you could give parents one piece of advice before bringing their child to Mathnasium, what would it be?

A:
A piece of advice for parents bringing their children to Mathnasium is to tell them WHY they are coming here. Attending Mathnasium is not a punishment for being bad at math; we are on their side and here to help them with math!

Q5: ๐ŸŽฏ What is your favorite teaching method or tool at Mathnasium?

A:
My favorite teaching tool at Mathnasium are the hands-on manipulatives, such as the physical coins, the ones and tens place blocks, and the plastic clocks. A teaching tool that I use all the time is Socratic Questioning: asking the students questions to pull knowledge out of them and lead them to the answer. Students at Mathnasium know more than they think they do!
